RFI # Description Government Answer

1 If there are spare breakers in the electrical panel, can one of the spare breakers be used for the new radon fan?

Yes, if there are spare circuit breakers with sufficient capacity or a space for future breakers.

SOW states there are 38 units for "assess and repair/install" radon system. Can you please tell us the Bldg & unit numbers of these units? Also, what types of repairs are needed for each unit?

Please see attached sheet for building and unit numbers. Assess design and installations of existing radon mitigation units identified as failing to meet radon exposure limitations. Repair, replace, or upgrade system to successfully reduce radon readings to less than 4.0 pCi/L.

We don't believe 280 days is sufficient to complete the construction. We estimate the construction will take:

a. 30 days - Government notification to start on-site work, including approved AF Form 103 and resident notification.

b. 224 days - 144 units at 1 or 2 days each, working 5 days per week, plus federal holidays and rain days

c. 91 days - Radon test duration after last unit is completed

d. 30 days - Receive radon test results from US laboratory and complete all closeout submittals

This totals to 375 calendar days for construction. Please advise if the construction schedule can be extended.

Concur. Will adjust SOW accordingly. Contractor must prioritize work in order to mitigate radon levels inside dwelling units within the AFI 3 year timeframe. (AFI 48-148, 5.3.1.6)

The solicitation Standard Form 1442 states bids are due by 14:00 on 15 September 2018. 15 September is a Saturday. Please confirm if this is the correct bid date.

Yes, bid date is correct.
