Section 1 Outline of Soil Investigation
A. General Purpose:
The general intent and purpose of the soil investigation, which is fully described in this report, is to be able to identify the soil bearing capacity of the ground where the proposed structure will be sited.
B. General Requirements:
Shindo Soil Investigation Co. Ltd. physically performed a soil investigation under the management and supervision of SG Engineering Inc.. Soil boring was performed using a drilling machine and a 66mm diameter single core tube bit. N-value measurements were taken to penetrate into the ground at 1.0-meter depth intervals.

Section 2 Conclusion and Recommendation
From consideration of investigation results, recommendation for the foundation of the proposed structure is shown as follows.
A. Structural Recommendation
Proposed site is covered by native Fat Clay (CH) layer. Under the Fat Clay layer appears native soil
Decomposed Coral Limestone’s Silty Sandy Gravel (GM). This layer represents from medium dense to very dense status, it gradually increase the denseness along with the depths. And hard solid Coral Limestone layer is inserted among Decomposed Coral Limestone’s Silty Sandy Gravel (GM) (Reference the attached drilling log).
A structure at the proposed site is assumed to be comparatively light weight structure with spread foundation. But it seems that the most suitable bearing layer for the proposed structure has to be either supported to Solid Limestone layer or medium dense zone of Silty Sandy Gravel (GM).
Therefore, although it depends on the weight of the proposed structure, the consideration from viewpoint of structure design and economic side adequately is necessary.
However, it is concerned that irregular changes of layer might be confirmed during construction phase. Therefore, it is necessary to perform site inspection to confirm the appearance of bearing layer when the design and location of proposed structure has been determined and it may need to perform plate bearing test to confirm the actual bearing capacity.

Decomposed Coral Limestone [Silty Sandy Gravel (GM)]
Buff to Light Yellow to Buff to Milky Brown Medium Moisture, None Plasticity
Sedimentary layer of former coral debris. Principally consists of silt and limy sand intermingled with angular fragments of limestone. Soft clay inflow layer was confirmed at 10m depth.
Sand; Grain size varies widely, but medium to coarse size is conspicuous.
Gravel; Sizes was less than 20mm generally. Partially varies between 20mm to 35mm.
Occasionally inserts thin layer of moderately hard solidified limestone.
Confirmed percentages of solidified limestone content at each depth are shown by bar graph.
