FA5215-18-Q-9016 Wake Island BASH Radar System RFI Response 1- Questions and Answers

1. Does the radome have to cover the entire mobile system?

a. Response: The PM Team has reviewed their requirement in the wake of your comments and is amending the requirement to include the radome as an option if the system requires it.

2. When is the contract award date?

a. Respnse: It will be awarded between 25 and 30 September.

3. What is the deadline of physical delivery of the system?

a. Response: Delivery should be proposed, there is no set time as you will not have complete control over when the radar would arrive at Wake Island. The government will transport the radar from Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam to Wake Island via Government mode and it be the responsibility of the Government. As a result, travel for installation is dependent on when the System arrives at Wake Island.

4. In the FAA AC 150/5220-25 4.2a Standard Object Detection, an altitude detection capability of up to 1000 feet ARL is specified for 1 SAT and up to 3000 feet ARL for at least 2 SAT. In the Performance Work Statement an altitude detection capability of up to 15,000 ft AGL (typo?) is specified. Which document prevails?

a. Response: PWS prevails. The Air Force does not have a Standard for BASH Radars per Air Force Safety Center BASH Manager, it is up to the user to determine, in these cases, PWS compliance prevails.

5. In the FAA AC 150/5220-25 4.2a Standard Object Detection a range detection capability of 0.3 to 1 nmi is specified for 1 SAT and 0.3 to 3 nmi for 2 SAT. In the Performance Work Statement a range of 6nm is specified. Which document prevails?

a. Response: PWS prevails.
