About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document dated January 7, 2025, for Solicitation No. FA520925Q0007 regarding the purchase of pickup trucks for Yokota Air Base, Japan.

The Q&A clarifies several key requirements: The government will provide licensing and insurance, with vendors only needing to provide standard warranty coverage. The vehicles must be gasoline-powered (not diesel), locally manufactured full-size pickup trucks with regular cabs, and the contract is for twelve (12) units. Technical specifications include a minimum 8-foot pickup bed length with 122cm of unobstructed floor space between wheel housings. While the original specifications called for 305 horsepower, the government indicated it would accept 150 HP, along with Toyota standard torque and a 2-ton maximum loading capacity. Japanese-only technical documentation is acceptable, though initially both Japanese and English versions were required. The document indicates that amendments to the Government Minimum Characteristics Item Information (GMCII) will be issued to update various specifications.
