About this file
This is a Question & Answer document dated January 13, 2025, for Solicitation No. FA520925Q0007 regarding the purchase of twelve full-size locally manufactured pickup trucks for Yokota Air Base, Japan.
The Q&A clarifies several key specifications: the government will provide licensing and insurance; only gasoline-powered vehicles are acceptable; technical publications can be submitted in Japanese only; and the minimum pickup bed length must be 8 ft with 122 cm of unobstructed floor space between wheel housings. The document addresses various vendor inquiries about vehicle specifications, including acceptance of a lower horsepower rating (150 HP vs. 305 HP), Toyota standard torque, and 2-ton maximum loading capacity, which were all approved. Amendment 0002 removed requirements for Parts List and Shop Repair Manual in Japanese. Technical publications must be provided at delivery time, and product specification sheets are preferred in English but acceptable in Japanese if English versions are unavailable. The Q&A sessions are now closed with no additional questions being accepted.
