Aerospace Paint Booth: FA5209-16-R-0024 Questions from Vendors with Customer Answers:

Q1. Approx. how thick is the existing concrete pad? How much is it elevated above grade?

A: The pad is 150mm slab on grade and the edges will be 300mm thick and is elevated 200mm above ground.

2. How many operators do you anticipate using ? what compressed air requirements do you anticipate?

A: 2 no more than three using the facility.

3. Lights are to be LED or standard T5 / T8 type?

A: T8

4. Emergency exit lights over exits, with battery backup?

A: Yes.

5. Roof access ladder to have a handrail around the top of the booth?

A: Yes.

6. E stops at each exit door?

A: Yes.

7. Booth interior walls to be white - powder coat - exterior to be galvanized with 2 coats of 2 part epoxy paint And 1 coat of 2 part urethane paint for severe exterior service?

A: Yes.

8. All hardware to be CAD plated or equal?

A: Yes

9. Booth is to be designed for what wind loads?

A: Max sustained wind speed = 44mph, Max wind gust (16 year period) = 105mph

10. Operators are to use respirators or have breathing air supplied?

A: Both, breathing air is preferred.

11. If breathing air - CO Monitor required. Strobe / audible alarm required inside booth - explosion proof?

A: Yes they will be required and a explosion proof setup is also required

12. Fire Suppression is by whom? Tied into central fire alarm system? Strobe / audible alarm required inside booth - explosion proof?

A: That will have to be coordinated through base fire dept. And I believe since it will be its own building that it will have to be wired in to the central alarm system. Or might be able to be tied into the same one as the Composite facility.

13. All blowers to shut down immediately upon notice of fire alarm?

A: Yes.

17. How many air drops shall be required?

A: Paint booth- 6 drops and 3 breathing drops, composite facility- 8 drops, 907- 8 air drops and 4 breathing

19. Paint Kitchen to be located where in relation to the concrete slab?

A: In building 907 adjacent to the wash rack

21. Exhaust vent piping to go through the roof or through the side of the building?

A: Through the roof

22. How tall is the building ? type roof? Type walls for penetrations?

A: Exterior Booth

23. Contractor to provide "as built" drawings?

A: Yes

24. Contractor to provide a detailed "startup " report, recording ALL operating parameters?

A: Yes

25. Contractor shall provide two sets of OEM manuals with priced spare parts listing?

A: Yes
