FA5209-16-R-0024 Attachment 1: Paint Booth and Installation Requirements 10 Aug 2016 Paint Booth Requirements Overall Scope: Provide downdraft or semi-downdraft exterior-rated paint booth adjacent to new composite maintenance facility (adjacent to existing B907) for aircraft parts maintenance.
Booth Specifications:
· Size of concrete slab: 15’-8” Wide x 40’-0” Long.
· Provide interior (or inside) working minimum dimensions: 12’-0” Wide x 10’-0” High x 34’-0” Deep.
· Provide air compressor to support paint booth operations.
· Provide insulated vertical wall panels with internal steel frame to support overhead units. Standing seam vertical walls with powder coat finish.
· Provide sustained ambient temperature 72 F at 50-60% relative humidity, with curing capability of 180 F.
· Provide fluorescent light fixtures with Class I, Division 2 rated lights.
· Provide insulated swinging entry doors at least 12’ Wide x 10’ High, with wire mesh safety glass viewing windows. Doors will have an airtight seal and low profile hardware/handles. Outside/Inside appearance should be consistent with the design of the booth.
· Provide 4 personnel access doors--at least 3’0” Wide x 7’0” High--with wire mesh safety glass window(s). Doors should be similar to product entry doors, having a welded frame and appearance consistent with design of the booth interior and exterior. Doors shall include a spring loaded emergency exit bar or similar emergency egress feature.
· Booth shall meet all NFPA-33 requirements to include a method to avoid spraying in booth when fans are off or light tube access door is opened. This feature to be linked to the main entry, personnel doors and control panel.
· Provide roof access ladder.
Booth Exhaust System:
· Provide filtered air flow through length of booth at approx. 100 ft/min.
· Provide booth with 80/20 (recirculated/fresh air) recirculation ration in cure/bake cycle
· Industrial Filter house stiffened for high negative pressure, complete with high strength filter racks and 3-Stage NESHAP filtration for chromate removal (98% removal at 2 microns) with doors & lights
· 1 set NESHAP 3 stage exhaust filtration to include:
· 1st Stage Roll Media
· 2nd Stage 24” x 24” Panel Filter
· 3rd Stage 24” x 24” x 12” Bag Filter
· Filter monitor frame to monitor static pressure drop across each stage of filtration
· Exhaust duct to include duct sections for a 10’-0” duct stack, cleanout door, vertical throw exhaust Booth Intake System:
· Electric make-up air unit with DX Cooling Unit and electric heat source to be connected to existing utility connections at facility. Air Handler Unit to be mounted above the booth and vented to the roof and intake plenum via ductwork.
· Provide a humidification section capable of achieving at least 6,000 cfm.
· Unit to be mounted overhead with service platform.
· Provide a recirculation fan capable of achieving at least 12,000cfm.
Booth Controls:
· Provide booth controls with auto-balance system to automatically keep the paint booth balanced when in operation. This system should consists of a differential pressure gauge, sensing probes and a variable frequency drive (VFD) that controls the speed of the exhaust fan motor.
Booth Accessories:
· 14’ Long x 10’ Wide Mixing Room. Positive pressure mixing room with insulated walls. Finishes match the exterior of the booth. Include a positive pressure intake fan, control panel with remote on/off switch and light fixtures.
Installation
· Contractor shall complete installation and operator training in accordance with the Statement of Work.
Submittals
· The contractor shall provide at a minimum a specifications document and a layout design for the paint booth. Contractors should take into consideration Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), security, emergency, space, electrical, power and other requirements.
· The paint booth specifications shall provide a list of the paint booth’s technical features and installation requirements including—but not limited to—emergency, electrical, power and space requirements.
· The layout design shall illustrate the dimension fo the proposed paint booth in relation to the existing 15’ 8” Wide x 40’ 0” Long concrete pad.
