QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES
FOR
COAL CRUSHER REPLACEMENT
AT
CLEAR AIR STATION, ALASKA
SOLICITATION NO. FA5004-09-R-C009
It shall be noted to all interested parties that the following questions have been received in writing regarding the subject acquisition. Additionally, responses have been provided to the below listed questions.
As a reminder, it is the responsibility of all Interested Parties to review this website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) frequently for any updates and/or amendments to any and all subject documents.
Question 1:
When the upper section (coal enclosure) of the coal handling system is dismantled and removed, regardless of crusher isolation, no coal will be delivered through this section of the coal handling system. The single feed conveyor feeds the coal enclosure and transitions below this point with the option of delivering coal as a isolation between crushers.
Please clarify that there is only a 24-48 hour allowance to completely remove and replace the entire upper section(coal enclosure)and drive assembly to make operational.
Answer 1:
24-48 hours is the available time for replacing the subject section of the chute and enclosure around the conveyor drive. The enclosure around the conveyor drive is split and we see no requirement to disassemble the drive for either removal of the existing or installation of the new.
