About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for nine air travel cases designed to store over $4M worth of aircraft spare parts. The required cases must be made of rugged plastic, with specific dimensional requirements: exterior dimensions of 27.5L x 19.5W x 28H inches (maximum) and interior dimensions of 25.5L x 17.5W x 26H inches (minimum). Additional technical specifications include 1.5" thickness, pressure relief valves, black corrosion-resistant hardware, plastic handles, a removable (non-hinged) lid, and a 1" PE liner. The OBS kits are intended for use on every off-station flight to increase the probability of resolving common non-flyable aircraft issues by providing precisely dimensioned storage in specific aircraft locations.
