About this file

This document contains an industry question and answer session pertaining to a federal contract opportunity to repair the interior of a chapel building at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska. The solicitation seeks to remove and replace flooring throughout the building, with the exception of the altar wall which is no longer included in the scope of work. Bidders should include asbestos abatement costs for all flooring work in their base pricing, as abatement will be required. The staging area will be coordinated with the user prior to construction. While known asbestos containing materials are defined, additional abatement encountered outside those areas will not be covered by contract modification. All work must comply with historic preservation standards for the property.
