Summary: Questions and Answers for FA489726QC044 Fire Extinguisher Servicing

This is a Questions and Answers document for a federal contract opportunity (FA489726QC044) concerning fire extinguisher servicing for Halon 1211 units at a military air base installation. The contract involves routine and emergency servicing of 150 lb wheeled Halon fire extinguisher units only; pricing must be structured according to the specified CLIN format to enable fair competitive comparison, though contractors may provide additional breakdown details separately.

Service response time requirements are defined as two weeks for routine servicing and maintenance per PWS-Fire Bottles 20260320 (sections 2.5.1-2.5.2), and twenty-four hours for emergency calls with notification to the Contracting Officer if completion will extend beyond five working days. Work must be performed on the military installation with contractor-provided technicians capable of obtaining base access; escort and scheduling are coordinated with the Contracting Officer. The contract is a new requirement previously performed by the USAF fire department. Contractors may perform work on-site using a specialized enclosed trailer, which may remain on base during active work periods but cannot be stored long-term between jobs. Multiple trips are required as all fire bottles will not be simultaneously available due to deployments, temporary duty assignments, and mission requirements. Historical quantities and prior servicing data are available for planning purposes.
