Office Trailer Rental – Exercise Forging Sabre

The following are responses to industry submitted questions:

Power

Q1: Will you accept a bid that does not include power connections?

A1: No, The transformers are the only incidental items the government is providing. It is suggested to set a service panel large enough to handle trailer calculated loads. Then feed from breakers within service equipment to each trailer sized appropriately for each calculated load.

Each trailer should be equipped with 120V/20A duplex receptacles and communication connections.

Q2: Single phase or three phase power?

A2: The transformer will be 120/208 three phase. Q3: How far is the transformer?

A3: A permanent siting location has not been determined. Assumption: Each trailer location from the contractor nstalled service panel should be within 200’ average distance.

Q4: Are we running it on the pavement?

A4: The soil condition is gravel, soil, and some asphalt millings. Q5: How will the cables be protected?

A5: Cable installation shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 70 (Temporary

Wiring) Data

Q6: Will you accept a bid that includes the outlets and data ports with empty conduit for data installed by others?

A6: No. Internal Cat 6 wiring shall be installed by the bidder and 120V 20A receptacles should be placed according to NFPA 70.

Q7: Are you expecting me to run data to the buildings from another location?

A7: No. The Air Force will run data lines from outside location to the modular trailer IT/communications closets. The contractor shall be required to install the internal Cat 6 wiring of the modular offices from the IT/communications closets/racks to the end user position.

General Q8: How close will the buildings be together, do you have a site plan?

A8: The 60’ x 60’ command post (CP) trailer and the 60’ x 48’ office trailer will be close to each other. The 20’ and the 40’ trailers will be at several locations within Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Q9: Will you require ramps or will OSHA stairs work?

A9: Ramps for the 60x60 CP trailer, stairs for all the other trailers.

Q10: Will you require skirting?

A10: Yes include skirting.

Q11: Will you require anchors, if so what surface are we on?

A11: Yes anchors and grounding is required. The soil condition is gravel, soil, and some asphalt millings.

Q12: 8’ ceilings are standard modular, will 6 ½’ above the CP platform be high enough?

A12: Given an 8’ ceiling height, CP platform height is to be 1’ so that there is 7’ above the platform. The railings around the platform are to reach 3’ above the platform. Hence given a platform height of 1’, the height of the railings will be 4’ if the railings are installed on the trailer floor or 3’ if the railings are installed on the platform itself.

Q13: In the single wide units, it does not appear to be room or HVAC capacity for how many people you plan in each unit. You have up to 20 people in an 8x20, and 32 people in a 10x40-those buildings are designed for 100 square feet per person. Please advise.

A13: Install largest HVAC capability for the unit being provided.
