SUMMARY OF CHANGES

No further questions will be accepted after 1:00 p.m. MST, 25 Apr 12.

The following questions and answers from the site visit held 10 Apr 12 are incorporated:

1) Is the floor covering in the restrooms to be VCT?

Answer: Cover restroom floors in sheet Vinyl

2) Is the roof structure wood trusses or steel?

Answer: Wood trusses are acceptable, however, if used fixed temperature heat detectors shall be installed within the roof structure.

3) What flooring is desired at the entry vestibules?

Answer: VCT

4) Does the Mechanical room get VCT flooring?

Answer: Concrete Slab

5) The site plan showing building 2408 that is to be demolished has no scale. Please provide a scale so the building size can be calculated.

Answer: The building dimensions are roughly 215’x37’. Each floor is roughly 7,955 SF for a total of 15,910 SF for both floors. The building has an estimated height of 25’.

6) It was mentioned at the site visit that a building was demolished at the site of the new Chapel Annex structure.

Was the backfill compacted sufficient to receive the new buildings footings or would they need to go down to natural soil and if so what is the depth of the fill / natural soil at the site?

Answer: Assume backfill was not sufficiently compacted to receive new footings. Existing drawings show that the previous footings went to a depth of 3.5’.

7) Is an electronic Bid acceptable or are hard copies required?

Answer: Hard copies of bids are required. Bids can be mailed to the address listed in block 7 of the 1442. If you intend to attend the bid opening please email SrA Ray at zachery-aaron.ray@mountainhome.af.mil at least one day prior to the scheduled bid opening. mailto:zachery-aaron.ray@mountainhome.af.mil

9) Requesting a further explanation of Attachment 6 regarding the emergency notification system. Are we to include just a loudspeaker system that interfaces to an offsite Central Control System, or is a local interface required? Please clarify the requirements for this building.

Answer: The government requires both an external and internal mass notification system. See wording below:

Technical Requirements: The notification must be in real time and tied into the current mass notification system that command post uses and at the same time separate so if an active shooter comes into the facility it can be announced.

Normally it is tied into the fire alarm system.

IAW UFC 4-021-01 Change 1, January 2010

2-6.1.3 Air Force Installations. A wide area MNS shall be a component of and connected to the Installation Notification and Warning System (INWS) as defined by Air Force instruction (AFI) 10-2501. The INWS typically includes a “giant voice” system for outdoor notification of personnel.

2-6.2 Individual Building MNS. Individual building MNS are installed to provide real-time information to all building occupants or personnel in the immediate vicinity of a building, including exterior egress and gathering areas. These systems are designed to operate from one or more locations in the building, and operate with or without connection to a wide area MNS—but must be connected to with the wide area MNS if one is provided on the DOD installation. All DOD components are required to provide individual building mass notification capability.

10) Please expand on the requirement to “Resolve Storm Drainage” per sheet C-1 note 3.

Answer: By stating resolve storm drainage, the contractor has the responsibility to find a way to ensure that this area drains away from the building and does not flood the road.

11) Please expand on requirement 3. b. 1) c. restroom requirements. Are the specialties to include soap dispensers and built-in waste receptacles? We would assume toilet partitions, grab bars, TP dispensers, san. napkin dispensers, PT dispensers, changing tables, and mirrors would be required at a minimum.

Answer: Toilet Partitions, Grab Bars, TP Dispensers, Paper Towel Dispensers, and mirrors are required. Changing tables, soap dispensers and built in waste receptacles are not required.

13) Please confirm that the Microwave, refrigerator, TV’s and Projectors mentioned in 3. g. are to be provided by others.

Answer: Above mentioned items will be provided by others.

14) Are we to assume from 3. i. 3)&4) that there is no ceiling in the Mechanical and Communication Rooms? We would assume a hard pan in the Janitor and Closets.

15) Would a separate tankless Water Heater be desired for the Janitor sink?

Answer: Only one will be needed for the entire building.
