MEMORANDUM FOR ACC/A3CT
FROM: Name and title
SUBJECT: FA4890-XX-X-00XX - Trip Report – Trip # OY4-014
1. PURPOSE. Complete User Validation Tests on the newest release of the Strategic Worldwide
Integration Capability (SWIC) 1.5.4 software.
2. TRAVELER(S).
3. ITINERARY. ISS Facility, Colorado Springs, CO, 17-22 March 2013
4. DISCUSSION. Initially there were five users making the trip but sequester cut the number to two users and myself. This not only increased the workload but the need for training in additional areas. As a group we found 20+ issues with the thick client and requested numerous changes and additions to the new web app. ISS was able to fix every issue we found. Most fixes were accomplished immediately. The few not fixed immediately were done by the time we came in the next morning.
Most of my time was spent working with John Doe and Joan Doe on permission issues. The roles need to be reworked to fit the unique circumstances we have at the 608th AOC. We do not have traditional ATO replanners and executors. The lines between these roles are blurred. Luckily there are tools within SWIC to help me quickly determine what permissions are needed for a specific action. My goal now is to sit with our users and lock down the roles before SWIC 1.5.4 is installed. I will send these new roles to ISS to be included in the SWIC build software.
5. CONCLUSIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS. Despite having less than half of the users initially scheduled for the trip, the test was still a complete success. I feel we have a product that will meet our both our current and future needs at the 608th AOC. The knowledge and experience I took away from the test will help me better support the AOC.
