Report Month Activities

• Completed DBM (FrOB/TACINFO build) preparation of RE11 (MAAPTK 2.0.4) TBMCS

Lite Suite (21 Dec – 7 Jan) for use in CENTCOM-directed, AFCENT-sponsored STRAT- TET-MAAP (S-T-M) Conference held 4-17 Jan.

• During conference discovered several issues with planning software that will be addressed back to ACC and the SPO for further evaluation and possible fixes

• MAAPTK 2.0.4 (possibly GCCS-I3 v4.2.0.9 and JTT Portal 3.1.3.7, not tested because the

GCCS-I3 server was not attached during LITE suite operations) appears to have an older look-up validation table embedded. JTT output (via SWIFT Tool) provides BE#

OSUFFIX Prime_Funct table values that prevented some JIPTL JDPI entries from uploading into MAAPTK. Known value conflicts included PLA, KLS and NAVU list choices; others may exist that were not used/imported. Manually modifying the JTT

SWIFT XML output file with a valid value of NA allowed the JIPTL to import without error directly into MAAPTK. Our team will be sending a SPR to highlight the deficiencies encountered for a future patch fix.

• Baseline MAAPTK 2.0.4 Burn Rate tables and Mission Profiles were questioned by

Navy planners, especially all variants of the FA18 and EA18G. My deputy and I are working on adjusting the Mission profiles to more accurately depict the onboard fuel loads available

• MAAPTK 2.0.4 sixty-six standard Burn Rate tables fall far short of the diverse types of aircraft used in a typical coalition AODB. We recommend additional focus is placed on adding additional aircraft to the baseline delivered products in future releases/updates.

Mission Profile, without PFPS or JMPS access are very difficult to build accurately

• Deck Cycle times worked extremely well for Air Location mission planning. Attack request didn’t work properly and required manual intervention by the planner to ensure aircraft could meet the scheduled deck cycles.

• Encountered a problem with C2 agency pairings of C2 Callword (Mission Manager vs. C2

Manager – isolated to E2C aircraft). Problem may have been systemically generated by the operator during the initial ABP build (call word used was incorrectly assigned in a flowed mission). The error was manually corrected but the C2 manager continued to display the old, incorrect pairing (replaced). We’ll monitor this behavior for repeatability in during future planning opportunities using RE11 MR2 software.

• Operators questioned why MAAPTK timing windows included seconds value (HHMMSS) vice only hours & minutes (HHMM). For aircraft planners, they saw no value in “splitting hairs” on seconds- level planning accuracy and caused some data entry slow-downs as the additional SS fields must be filled-in to proceed to the next field

• Participated in BLUE FLAG 13-2 MPC discussion on first use of RE11 MR2 suite using

PACIFICA based FrOB and specifically MIDB. During IPC in early Oct 2012, I told the BF

Intel team (Mr. Terry Effler) and the Team lead (Mr. Ed Bush) that the PACIFICA MIDB would not work on a RE11 GCCS- I3 system due to MDAL Rules enforcement. BLUE FLAG

PACIFICA data has known issues with Valid Country Codes (CN, WA, NV) used in WAC areas that the country codes, BE/OSUFFIX and Lat/Long combinations don’t allow. Initial attempts in August 2012 during the 609 AOC DET 1 data migration effort (using BF 11-2 data) resulted in complete rejection of the archived SWIFT file into the TBMCS ISDS (GCCS-I3

MIDB). MAAPTK did allow the import of the bad data but pairing to TAP/EMR shells was obviously impossible, thus preventing data synchronization between the two C2 software applications.

• 505th CCW BLUE FLAG staff, including their future commander, is aware of the need to address the data disparity soonest to avoid critical exercise planning/execution impacts.

609 AOC DET 1 (Shaw AFB) AOC Command and Control (C2) Systems Administrator:

Function as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on AOC Systems Administration for an information processing organization that provides field level support for AOC operations worldwide.

Report Month Activities

• MR2 MAAPTR issues with accessing WebLogic utility through Firefox

• Accessing WebLogic on MAAPTR using Mozilla Firefox would throw up certificate errors

- Snippet of error: You have received an invalid certificate: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority

- Realized the problem was when we tried accessing MAAPWS WebLogic on TR server which did in fact work. When we accessed that particular server; however; it assigned the certificate to that server and that server alone. This caused a conflict when trying to go back to the original MAAPTR WebLogic as it would show that certificate already being used, hence, the errors we were receiving.

• Resolved issue by going into Tools, Options, Advanced, Encryption, and View

Certificates—deleted out certificates in Server and Authorities Tabs that showed

MAAPWS server and restarted Firefox.

• Accessed MAAPTR from Firefox and were able to see the WebLogic interface and new certificates were assigned to the appropriate server.

• Falconview CADRG map data/client installation for Virtual MR2 operational clients in Bldg

• Operators requested CADRG map data coverage to fill creation of airspaces requirement

- Trained A1C Mallette/SrA Austin/Mr. Stevens on proper way to navigate EGPL server directories

- Provided instruction on utilizing Falconview Map Data Manager to insert, manipulate, and view EGPL Map coverage areas

• Open Falconview, Map, Map Data Manager, Paths Tab, Add, Locate file and Insert.

View Multiple Tab and Browse through specific coverage areas w/ proper zoom settings

- Ran into road block with how we were going to incorporate large amounts of data into an external site (size was too large for disks and we cannot use flash media)

• Suggested the use of a client used as a map and file repository for the remote systems

• Assisted with the set up local Windows Box with expansive hard drive to support large amounts of map data ‐ Imported CADRG EGPL data onto box and then had transported to site

• V&V for IWS/Transverse implementation into TTC environment

• Conferred with Harold Tucker (DET IWS Trainer) on system issues with IWS and

Transverse on TTC QA environment

- Isolated issues to include log-in errors with inadequate accounts and also system preferences

• Mr. Tucker needed access to IWS and Transverse but didn’t have the right account set up for initial access—remedied this by adding proper accounts ‐ Trained administrators on the proper way to add accounts, consult the customer, and properly update the ticket to avoid any future confusion with ticket updates

• Defined proper log-in procedures for logging into Transverse on QA Desktop— user needs to have a proper MR2 account whereas Desktop 2007 can utilize the normal WS administrator accounts ‐ Provided new documentation to administrators to show them proper steps in logging-in and changing application preferences tailored to operator/trainer needs (ex. Font type, window spacing, and classification banners

• Issue with assigning proper classification banners through JEDIT and Regedit

• TBMCS servers and clients in 702 were reflecting improper classification banners for both desktop and pre-login screens

- Instructed airmen on how to change JEDI settings for desktop classifications

• Start, Run, MMC, Add Snap-In, JEDI Classification Management, Expand

Security Banner and change Security Classification to appropriate level—changes reflect on active desktop

- Registry changes for Pre-Login background

• We originally discussed this issue and we at first believed this to be a Global policy—I remembered in the past having to work through Local Policy and decided to review the Registry settings—discovered the following path that controlled the desktop pre-login classification ‐ HKEY_USERS, .DEFAULT, Control Panel, Desktop, View the right pane and scroll to bottom. The Wallpaper option will have to be changed to the path of the image you want to place on the pre-login desktop. Once finished log-off and you will see the new settings

• TBMCS virtual server installation setup and software installation (operational preparation)

• Install consisted of defining storage rack space and obtaining equipment from KSPAN

- Mounted entire suite to include Windows and UNIX 440 systems

• Created new passwords/IP’s/hostnames for Variable worksheet and distributed to administers for installation

• Provided technical assistance for new airman installing Windows Domain Controllers

- Guided them through steps when issues came up beyond their assistance

• Trained on proper system responses and how system operates within the TBMCS environment

• Installed Sybase server to exact 1.1.3 Hardware/Software specifications

- Encountered issues on TINT GMIDB procedure which stalled installation

• Reviewed logs and tried backtracking installation to previous steps to avoid dependency issues—realized installation was no good and had to start over

• Researched this issue and realized that one of the power supplies had went bad on the Sybase server—installed new power supply and restarted installation—believe that power supply cutover caused major hiccup in installation and forced TINT to fail on GMIDB installation

• Assisted Al Udeid with JET setup for both JADOCS and TBMCS/MAAPTK systems

• Consulted with Rob Hayes on their desire to have JET successfully implemented into

TBMCS environment

- Ran through procedures on how to set up Subscription Service within CCWEB

• Process required user to access CCWeb/TBMCSApps, Subscription Service

Registration

• User then needed to select Add Subscriber tab and input proper JET configuration variables

• MAAPTK users have to add the external source within the Project Tool utility—path to certificate and web service link required in order to view proper layers

• Tested proper connectivity by utilizing CCWeb/FSTAT/Base Status/Select Area of

Coverage or base and then select Weather Information Tab—proper connection to

JET shows all applicable weather data for that area

• Discussed JET JADOCS configuration with Joe Todd (Al Udeid JADOCS Admin)

- Instructed him on how to load JET web service link into Horizon Configuration Admin tool within JADOCS application

• Provided Joe with link and POC for OWS Jet for future reference

• Gathered known ports for firewall access as he wasn’t able to successfully connect with current configuration

• Discussed with him the steps in order to successfully test JET connectivity within

JADOCS (Menus, Managers, Create Mission, JET/JWIS Tab, Input ICAO and coverage times and run verification)

• Collaborated with JADOCS TPG installation representative Christopher (Kit) Antonsen for addition of Target Package Generator (TPG) into AOC test environment—Kit also on-site to trainer JADOCS FSR and operators/administrators on new feature

• TPG allows for the bi-directional transmission of targeting and imagery data over a Link-

16 channel to various machines throughout AOR

- Configured TPG server to receive incoming JRE/ADSI track feeds through initialization of RMH (Remote Message Handler) and ASTAJ (Aircraft Simulation Tool Add-In) utilities—input Link-16 channel IP’s into configuration

- Consulted with JRE Administrator (Leandre Gregory) on setting up link from TPG to JRE—connection test returned successful

• Integrated TPG into JADOCS training environment to test functionality of application

- Added appropriate TPG configuration variables into encrypted configuration file along with IP and host name information

- Added chicklet column, C2 default configuration and coordination tabs under Intra-AOC

Managers for Tasking Status information

- Sorted out minor operational “kinks” in order to complete test integration

- All materials related to the installation and configuration are on JADOCS repository share

• JADOCS 1.0.5.1 virtual installation in preparation for future operations

• Technicians created a new virtual image of JADOCS 1.0.5.1 but were running into issues when attempting to start Horizon services (used for remote connectivity/apps)

- Attempted to resolve issue by changing configuration within Horizon and PostGres user accounts but had no success

- Leafed through installation documents and compared to current system and realized there were a few different applications that had not been loaded and needed to be before PostGres installation—only viable solution was rebuild

• Walked A1C Clemons through proper installation and provided proper documents for future reference—current build now works like a champ

• JET test on JADOCS local clients

• Attempted to load new JET test within Intra-AOC Manager in order to test feature for Al

Udeid

- Noticed that ICAO fields were not valid for the AOR, only stateside ICAO’s were loaded—researched issue and found that the ICAO.tables file under Server/Tables was not listing the appropriate overseas data

- Talked with Joe Todd (Al Udeid administrator) and had him transfer his ICAO table from his JADOCS to ours—placed file under Transfer folder in JADOCS

- Tables are now correct but when we ran the test in multiple countries we are still getting processing errors—consulting with OWS (Bradley Davis) for fix action—believe their .XML data isn’t inputting into JADOCS correctly

• mIRC connectivity issues with local nodes/get list not updating properly

• A1C Hingst informed me that we were not connecting locally to our mIRC server

- Ran him through the proper procedures on how to check the UnReal file to ensure it is running—restarted server and he now knows how to handle this issue

• Worked with Mr. Chestnut on adding channels into Unrealircd.conf file in order to see them within mIRC application

- Instructed on how to properly add the channels and test/validate within mIRC
