18 Aug 20
Clarification.

Quotes are due by 20 Aug 20, 2:00 pm. Pacific Daylight Time.
Ref. Performance Work Statement.
1.2.4. Contractor-Provided Containers. The contractor shall provide the government with containers to store packaged medical waste until subsequent collection. The containers shall be rigid, leak-resistant, impervious to moisture, and of sufficient strength to prevent tearing or bursting under normal conditions of use and handling. Each container shall have a minimum capacity of 44 gallons, marked with the word "BIOHAZARD,” and the international biohazard symbol. Empty containers delivered to the 355 MDG by the contractor shall be clean, disinfected, and free of any residual debris. Upon contract award, the contractor shall replace the existing containers at building 401 with the same number of empty containers.
Clarification.
Each container shall have a minimum capacity of 44 gallons, and labeled/marked/codified in the appropriate manner to ensure medical professionals properly dispose waste. Two distinctions shall be drawn: (1) one or more bins must be allotted for Regulated Medial Waste (e.g., Biohazard, Infectious, etc.) and (2) one or more bins must be allotted for Incineration Only. The contractor provided barrels shall be uniform and discreet. The bins shall be labeled/marked/codified to describe the treatment of the waste (regulated/incineration) and method of disposal. The intent of the bin designation is to ensure that regulated medical waste is separate from incineration only medical waste. The methods of labeling/marking/codification of the bins is vested in the contractor and driven by industry commercial standards.
