11) Q: The existing building appears to have hard lid ceiling throughout. Does the new addition require the ceilings to be hard lid? Or do we provide suspended ceiling tile system per item

1.3.19 of the statement of work.

A: The new addition shall be acoustical 2’x 2’ drop ceiling, T-bar and ceiling tiles.

12) Q: The existing single door that is required to be replaced with a double door will require a lintel for support. Please confirm that we will be allowed to use steel beam lintel.

A: Steel beam lintel will NOT be acceptable. It is up to the designer to design lintel support.

13) Q: It appears that the existing building utilizes an HVAC return air plenum, tying into the existing building will create dust. Please confirm that we will be required to provide a temporary dust barrier full height during the demolition of the single door and installation of the double doors.

A: The addition will have a standalone HVAC system except for the air lock room. The contractor is responsible for keeping the existing building dust free at all times.

14) Q: Please confirm that the entire roof overhang structure 16' wide x 20' long (where the new air lock is located) is required to be demolished and that temporary shoring will be required.

A: The contractor is required to demolish only 16’x 13’ of the overhang structure. Temporary shoring may be required for the overhang. The contractor is required to repair the remaining overhang including providing permanent supports, if required.
