FA483024Q0001, CATM RANGE MAINTENANCE
Q&A’s
Question Answer
1. What ammunition is primarily fired on ranges, Lead or Non-Lead (Green Ammo)?
Both ranges shoot frangible rounds 99% of the time but occasionally will shoot ball.
2. What are the dimensions (SQFT / Linear FT) of each range?
50 M range is 122’ wide x 201’ long for 24,522 SF and the 100M range is 122’ wide x 346’ long for
42,212 SF
3. PWS 1.7. The contractor shall be bonded, What’s the bonding type and limits are required?
Verbiage pertaining to bonding has been removed from the PWS.
4. PWS 1.7. Licensed, and properly insured as a maintainer of bullet trap systems. Is this a Florida specific License and Insurance as a bullet trap maintainer?
In accordance with the Insurance Compliance document (attachment 13) the Contractor is required to have insurance in order to be eligible for federal contracts. To the Government’s knowledge, there is no specific Florida license/insurance for maintainers of bullet trap systems. The Contractor must be able to cover any damages for which they are responsible for, if such a situation were to occur.
5. Bullet trap designs are proprietary in nature, is 23rd CES requiring awardee to obtain specific certification and or training from designer of their range equipment?
No, as long as the Contractor is fully capable of performing maintenance/repair actions. If the Contractor has to reach out to someone else for basic maintenance/repairs they are unable to complete, the Contractor would have to absorb those costs.
6. PWS 1.9. Unscheduled Repairs/Response Time. What are the estimated emergency calls?
PWS para 1.9 reads “…shall be on base within 24 hours of notification by Government. Contractor must be able to respond promptly in order to determine required repairs in an effort to minimize systems downtime.”
To date, the Government has not had any true emergencies due to the fact that firing can still take place even if systems aren’t operational.
7. Price schedule clin for emergency calls? As noted above, the Government has not had any emergencies to date on the current contract. If maintenance is performed as required, emergency situations will likely not occur.
An Emergency Repair CLIN has been added to the pricing schedule (x008) for any costs associated with emergency repairs, should they occur. The Contractor will not provide any pricing for this CLIN with their quote for this contract, as this will be funded if/when the need arises.
