About this file

This document outlines the requirements for a federal solicitation to repair ground antenna radio (GATR) high frequency (HF) antennas at Tyndall Air Force Base. The scope of work includes engineering, furnishing, installing, and testing three new HF triple-mode SPIRA-CONE antennas and installing new RF cabling and manhole/duct systems. A design-build team consisting of a general contractor and architectural/engineering firm will perform the services described in the solicitation statement of work and supplemental documents. Questions were asked and answered during a site visit to clarify requirements regarding geotechnical reports, removal of existing foundations and cabling, clearance from the security fence for new antenna installation, details of a new gravel road and building renovations, submittal formats, and responsibility for cable connections inside buildings. The performance period may be extended based on current antenna lead times exceeding the 165-day duration listed in the solicitation.

This loop shall not exceed maximum bend radius, and may be coiled and secured within the rack or above the rack in the cable tray, as space allows.
6Will renovations to building 1255 affect cable installation? Please provide further details. No, the renovation work will not affect cable installation.
7Please provide layout of recently installed fence.100% approved design drawings for new fence attached.
8Does the west LTO site have enough clearance from the fence line for the new antenna installation? Please confirm minimum clearance is 100 feet.Minimum clearance, per the manufacturer, is 50 feet from the most outer edges of the antenna system (including the aerial supporting arms, measured laterally). With the published antenna diameter of 60 feet, the total minimum fence proximity would be 160 feet, or an 80 foot radius from the center of the antenna. -EP
