FA481920R0024 Repair Marina Infrastructure Questions & Answers
Q: What duration does the contractor establish account with local utility?
A: Gulf Power for power, GCEC for water. Please contact Utility providers for details.
Q: What is the utility company that services the marina?
A: Gulf Power
Q: What is the cost for the badging? What term are badges good for?
A: No cost. Base access requests will be handled after award.
Q: Sheet 2 Task 1 item eleven refers to installation of metal railing but there is no number eleven show on the drawings.
A: Per the SOW, there is not a requirement to install metal railing.
Q: Sheet 2 Task 1 item 10 refers to 8x8 pavilion. Is there a design and what is the roofing material made of?
A: Standing seam metal roof is required for all roofs built in this project and must meet Tyndall AFB base excellence plan (Base standards). Roof color shall be MT1 as identified in the exterior Finish Palette attachment
Q: We need more information as to the preexisting gangway criteria for the floating dock. The gangway appeared to have had steps going down to a landing that the gangway attached to. This is not an approved ADA means of access. If this dock doesn’t need to be ADA this can be duplicated with more information and photos of the pre-existing access. Provide a bid standard for the gangway such as a 4’ x 30’ ADA Gangway and adjust according to final design.
A: No requirement to meet ADA standards, previous facility was not designed to meet ADA standards. Minimum width of the gangway shall be 4ft, length should be provided by manufacturer requirements. Gangway should be hinged at the Jetty abutment.
Q: Provide pre-existing drawings of more detail of the pre-existing floating dock than a GOOGLE MAP Aerial View.
A: Pre-existing drawings are not available.
Q: What is the power going to the floating dock?
A: 120/208V, 3 phase
Q: Can the power center be on the dock box, for the floating dock?
A: On floating dock the power center can be put on the dock box.
Q: Do we need to replace electric utility conduit from transformer to floating dock site?
A: Utility power conduit to floating dock site from transformer is expected to be re-used, existing cable will need to be pulled and new cable installed. Also, adjustments to stub up for power and water will need re-work/replacement at floating dock site.
Q: Fish cleaning sink type and size?
A: Single unit product should be used, made in USA, of material that will be long lasting for its environment approx. 48” 6” deep sink and stainless steel faucet.
Q: What are the specification on dock boxes, size, material, anchorages, etc?
A: 4’X2’X2’ approx., material must be long lasting for its environment.
Q: What are the specifications for the power pedestal/light?
A: Power requirements for power centers shall match existing.
Q: What are the specifications for the pavilion roof size?
A: Minimum clearance height will be 7.5ft for all roofed structures. See criteria drawings for dimensions. See Porter Corp pre-engineered example.
Q: What size/specifications picnic tables are required at the pavilion repair locations?
A: Size of picnic tables shall be similar to current picnic tables. Tables must be recycled plastic 8’ ADA compliant.
Q: What are the specifications on size, lift capacity of boat lifts?
A: Size and lift capacity of lifts shall match existing lifts at Bonita Bay Marina, Tyndall AFB. (6a) ea Golden (or equal) four-post, two motor lift assemblies, 7.5k capacity.
Q: What are the specifications for new roof structure at boat lift area?
A: Standing seam metal roof is required for all roofs built in this project and must meet Tyndall AFB base excellence plan (Base standards). Roof color shall be MT1 as identified in the exterior Finish Palette attachment
Q: What size grills are required at the pavilions?
A: Large pavilion requires one grill approximately 32”x42”, each small pavilions requires one grill approximately 15”x26” pole mounts in ground grill.
Q: What are the specifications for the lights for the large pavilion?
A: High efficiency LED, see UFC 3-530-01
Q: What size rip rap is required?
A: SOW does not specify size of rip rap to be installed, new rip rap shall closely align with pre-existing conditions.
Q: Can line item for debris removal be proposed as a unit cost since the quantity of debris is unknown?
A: Offerors shall submit cost for debris removal on a unit cost basis, there is an estimated 30 cubic yards of debris below the water level within the Beacon Beach Marina.
Q: What is the required butt diameter of the timber pile?
A: Butt Diameter and height should closely align with existing.
Q: Can the piles be jetted in or do they have to be driven?
A: Jetted or driven is acceptable.
Q: Are all of the existing piles shown in Demolition Scope Key Item 4 to be removed?
A: Yes
Q: Is there a contractor pricing schedule form that is going to be used for this project?
A: No, however offerors shall provide a breakdown of all costs within their proposal.
Q: The size of the pilings is unclear, 10” x 10” is the existing size – but the pilings at Bonita Bay look to be 12” x 12”. What is desired?.
A: The SOW says to meet existing design of the Bonita Bay infrastructure for motorized boat lift finger piers and the existing Beacon Beach finger pier design for the standard finger piers. Thus 10”X10” for the standard finger piers, and if the 6 covered finger docks with motorized boat lifts are 12”X12” then they should be 12”X12” for this build.
Q: We assume that the elevation is to match Bonita Bay. Is this correct?
A: Elevation of finger pier decking shall match existing elevation of the decking it will connect to.
