INTRODUCTION
1. The Seymour Johnson Air Force Base 5-Year Long-Range Furnishings Plan contains information for the maintenance, improvement, and budgetary requirements of all Unaccompanied Housing on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. It provides a plan of action for the management of dormitory furnishings, establishes budget estimates for financial plans, and monitors the maintenance, renovation, and construction of Unaccompanied Housing projects on Seymour Johnson AFB.
2. This plan is a proactive guide for management planning and action. While it is understood that changes in dormitory standards, furnishings, and funding requirements are continuous, this plan incorporates planned and projected requirements for the effective management of unaccompanied enlisted personnel housing. Accountability and the identification of requirements are the duty and responsibility of all levels and by all users. Deficiencies in these two important areas can be avoided through careful and thorough inventory planning and management. This plan serves as a single comprehensive repository of projects, furnishings, quality of life standards, and resource requirements for Seymour Johnson AFB Unaccompanied Housing facilities.
3. Seymour Johnson AFB has 10 permanent party enlisted dormitory facilities that are concrete structures with metal standing seamed roofs, brick exteriors, and exterior room entrances. They can house 722 unaccompanied Airmen.
4. Despite military cutbacks, drawdowns, and scarce dollars, there remains one constant--Our Airmen. We are committed to providing quality living facilities and furnishings for the Airmen who reside within the dormitory facilities. The bottom line of this program is to provide the best possible Quality-of-Life enhancements for our Airmen who perform and support the mission assigned to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
DONN C. YATES, Colonel, USAF Commander, 4th Fighter Wing
SECTION I
PURPOSE
1. PURPOSE: The Seymour Johnson Air Force Base 5-Year Long-Range Furnishing Plan 2018-2022 is developed to outline the long and short-range requirements for upgrading Seymour Johnson’s Unaccompanied Housing. The plan should be updated as required to enable precise planning on expenditures of current year funds, as well as programming for the next 4-years.
This master plan must be constantly refined to maintain above standard housing for our Unaccompanied Airmen. The plan will be reviewed annually. To be successful in meeting new requirements that arise, and deal with normal replacement requirements the 5-Year Long-Range Furnishing Plan must be comprehensive and supported.
