Text version

1. Is the contractor responsible for air monitoring?

The contractor shall perform at a minimum background and clearance air sampling of the abatement area. The Contractor shall ensure that air monitoring is accomplished in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.

2. Will the abatement be done in phases (ie. certain sections at a time) if so can we get a schedule of such?

20 CES wishes for no more than three rooms to be down at one time. The Asbestos Contractor will be responsible for removal of carpet, underlying tile, and any other ACM. The Asbestos contractor will proceed to the next room once abatement is complete and a separate contractor will proceed to lay new flooring in that room until all rooms are complete. The process through the facility should not exceed 3 weeks.

3. Are there pictures or a floor plan available?

There is no floor plan with accurate measurements available. A Fire evacuation plan with a rough layout of the facility with the rooms for work to be performed will be provided at the site visit and to other contractors that did not attend the site visit through FBO following the site visit.

4. Is there an ACM survey available? What contains asbestos (tile, mastic, or both?)

ACM Survey attached in this email. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, SCDHEC permits, and equipment necessary to accomplish South Carolina State permitted asbestos floor tile and mastic abatement for building 1029 (Building has approximately 16,008 square ft. of flooring) at Shaw AFB, SC., in accordance with all federal regulations, applicable state and local laws, Environmental Protection (EPA) standards and National Emission Standard Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) rules/regulations.

5. Is there any carpet that may be on top of any such tile and/or mastic?

Yes, all asbestos tile and mastic to be removed and abated is under carpeting. The carpet will be removed at the same time as the ACM material.

6. Will all office furniture, desks, chairs, etc. be moved prior to commencement of abatement activities?

The facility manager shall establish a pattern of abatement (what rooms to start work in) so they (facility) can mobilize their equipment and personnel in an organized manner and allow the contractor to work smoothly without delays, prior to start of work.

7. Are you able to verify our WOSB status, of do we need to send proof along with our bid?

For a WOSB to be eligible for award, documentation verifying eligibility must be submitted to the WOSB Program Repository at the time of the initial offer. No contract will be awarded until all required documents are received. Contracting officers must access the WOSB Repository through MAX.gov and request access to the eligibility documents provided by the successful offeror. Contracting officers may view the eligibility documents only if the apparent successful offeror approves their request. (You will receive this request IF you are the apparent successful offeror, please do not provide a code for access with your quote.)
