Text version

Note: - The attached is not an ACM survey. It's just information on what contains asbestos. An ACM survey would normally contain pictures, estimated quantities, locations, and the percentage on asbestos within the material that has to be abated; However, it's fine what you provided, The abatement can be performed as Presumed Asbestos Contaminated Material (PACM), we accept the call that the items being removed are to be treated as asbestos.

Question 1 - but I need to know for sure if the tile, mastic, or both contains asbestos because more than likely the carpet will have to be disposed of as ACM as well because it’s almost impossible to separate the carpet glue without having residual tile stuck on the carpet's backing.

Both tile and mastic are positive for asbestos, and yes it is entirely possible that the tile will come up with the carpet.

Question 2 - Also, does the cove base need to be disposed of as well, and does the mastic/glue attaching the cove base contains asbestos.

The cove base came back NEGTAIVE and can be disposed of as construction debris.

Question 3 - Last, you will need air samples done for final clearance since the office area will be re-occupied after the abatement is complete, and that is normally done by a 3rd party monitor to avoid an interest conflict.

This is being removed from the requirement. Amendment 2 has been posted on FBO removing Air Monitoring from the requirement. Air monitoring needs to be third party, the abatement contractor cannot supply his own. Either we as the building owner, or if, the primary contractor subs out the abatement and air monitoring with two separate sub-contractors. There needs to be a separation between the abatement co. and the air monitor, One cannot work for the other.
