Responses to RFIs

1. Question: During our site visit, we noticed the phone/data lines are dropped from the ceiling. Will the location of these lines remain in the ceiling, or will we need to redirect them?

Answer: Contractor will not need to perform any work with communications lines or equipment. However, contractor must ensure no equipment is damaged or contractor will be responsible for repair.

2. Question: Can the Gov verify there is no existing VCT under the carpet?

Answer: There is 12” VCT tile under the carpet.

3. Question: Can the Gov verify if power is single phase or 3 phase?

Answer: Single phase.

4. Question: Can the Gov provide Haz Mat report?

Answer: No HAZ Mat report available.

5. Question: Can one Supervisor perform all three hats? Superintendent, QC and SSHO?

Answer: Yes.

6. Question: Are as builds required upon completion of project? Can the Gov provide existing CAD drawings?

Answer: As built drawings are not required, therefore no CAD drawings will be provided.

7. Question: Does this contract have to comply with ADA or ABA? If so the rear doors have a step upon exit, How does the Gov want to handle that? The restroom will not ADA or ABA requirements? Will a waiver be provided?

Answer: No requirement to meet ADA/ABA.

8. Question: Will the KTR be provided the entire space in one phase?

Answer: Yes.

9. Question: Floor plan show the replacement of two (2) exterior doors/frames with new panic hardware and the doors swing inward. Please confirm if the doors should swing out or panic hardware is not required to swing in.

Answer: Swing out doors with panic hardware.

10. Question: The existing light switches and cover plates are to be replaced, however they are higher than ADA requirements. Is the Contractor required to relocate the switches to confirm with ADA?

Answer: See answer to Question 7.

11. Question: Is the Contractor required to provide electrical design and calculations for the additional load at the existing panel?

Answer: Not required

12. Question: Since the existing hazardous materials are unknown prior to the bid date, Government should direct the Contractors to include a fixed allowance of $10,000.00 to even out the playing field with all bidders. Please advise.

Answer: Government has determined that all materials being removed will be considered hazardous, therefore bid accordingly.
