ANSWER: See Amendment 0002 for correction to CLIN 0001 extended description.

2. The plans and statement of work call out 100 S.Y. of “Corner Break Spalls”. Not all spall locations will be “Corner Breaks”. Is the 100 S.Y. the total quantity of partial depth spall repair to be included in the bid. Please clarify.

ANSWER: Yes, per statement of work (SOW) paragraph1.3.2

3. Please provide the locations of the “Secure Zone” in relationship to the areas of work outlined on the “Area of Work” plan.

ANSWER: All work is in the secure zone.

4. Do you have the approximate quantities of spall repairs and crack repairs separated by work areas?

ANSWER: No.

5. Section 1.5 “Phasing” in the “Statement of Work” appears to have nothing to do with this project. Is there any minimum phasing requirements on this job, other than what is called out in Section 1.6.3 “Work Planning”? Please provide phasing plan.

ANSWER: SOW paragraphs 1.5.1, 1.5.2 and 1.5.3 deleted. Paragraph 1.5 Phasing changed to read RESERVED. Phasing plan to be developed by contractor and airfield management after award of contract.

10. Bid proposal document Sheet 29 of 33 Subsection 1(b) calls out to insert proposed unit prices for contract lines 0001 and 0002. There is no contract line 0002, nor are there unit prices for the different work items. Please clarify.

Answer: See amendment 0002 for corrections.

11. Section 32 01 19 “Field Molded Sealants” Subsection 2.1 calls out 4 different types of liquid joint sealants ie: Hotpour, 2-Component Hand Mix, 2-Component Machine-Mix, and Silicone and Section 32 13 73 adds compression seal. Please clarify what type of sealant you want. We suggest using Liquid Silicone Joint Sealant for its ability to conform to irregular joints and jet fuel resistance, as well as, the fact that no manufacturer makes 200 E 2-component sealant any longer and the hot pour sealant specified is not jet fuel resistant.

ANSWER: Sealant that meets UFGS and Air Force construction standards.

ANSWER: Use product that meets UFGS and Air Force construction standards.

b. If an approved pre-bagged proprietary repair material is used, will the requirements for mix designs, cement testing, aggregate testing, alkali silica reactivity testing etc. be necessary.

ANSWER: Yes, if required by UFGS or Air Force construction standards.

a. You cannot install new sealant over old sealant, no manufacture will warranty this installation.

b. All joints should have a foam backer rod installed to create the proper joint geometry and depth dimensions.

c. Note 1 on this sheet indicates a depth to width ratio of 1 to 1 1/3. This is completely wrong and needs to follow manufactures recommendations once you choose the sealant you want from the 5 choices outlined in the specification.

d. Note 2 on this sheet again calls out that you may install new sealant over the old sealant which is incorrect.

e. Note 5 on this sheet makes no sense. Please clarify.

Do you have a Proprietary Cementitious Repair Material that you based these specifications upon? Please clarify.

ANSWER: No. Use product that meets UFGS and Air Force construction standards.
