About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers file for a Dyess Air Force Base Intrusion Detection System (IDS) project at Building 7312. The Q&A provides detailed technical specifications for the installation, including facility characteristics such as the building's age (constructed in December 1954, renovated in 2025), wall types (brick perimeter), ceiling configurations (suspended in most areas with a raised floor in classrooms), and specific system requirements. Key technical installation details include mandatory 100% conduit wiring for IDS/ACS, a dedicated AC power circuit, plenum wire acceptance, and installation of two Kaba MAS X-10 cipher locks at primary and secondary entrances.
The related federal contract opportunity, Solicitation Number FA466125Q0118, is issued by the 7th Contracting Squadron at Dyess AFB and seeks a contractor to deliver and install a Honeywell Vindicator Intrusion Detection System (V3). The solicitation requires the contractor to provide all necessary labor, personnel, equipment, and materials for system installation, with post-installation training included. Contractors must submit questions by June 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST, with quotes to be emailed to specified Air Force contact emails. The project is under the Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command.
