Questions and Answers
Question #QuestionAnswer
1Coal to be delivered by truck - how will you be storing coal? Is it bulk or do you wish it to be in Super Sacks?Coal is stockpiled. Trucks will dump and front end loaders stack it into piles.
21.2.11 Non-oil based dust suppression (Chem-Loc 101 or equivalent) shall be applied to the coal - find out if this is to be applied to the coal at the time of loading or if it should be applied as product comes off the line. This is not typical for most plants, however they do apply to loads to cover tops and or place tarps on the truckloads.Suppression is applied time of loading. Trucks are tarped, the suppressions is to reduce dust while unloading and stockpiling.
3What is the Max amount of Coal you will need per month? You will have the performance period of the contract to deliver the 1000 tons. No limits on how much is delivered during the month.
4Will this 1000 tons be purchased at the same time? The contract is for the purchase of 1000 tons as a one-time purchase.
5The coal size requested is a bit smaller than standard. It will need to be crushed. Can you verify size of coal needed? That is the correct coal size. The final product needs to be 1 ½” top size, ¼” bottom size. See requirements document for further specifications.
6The SOW asked for Surface Coal - what if the coal is not surface? (Each mine may have it differently)The requirements document does not specify Surface Coal.
7Your current RFQ asks for Truck deliveries. Is access to Cenral Heating Plant paved and easy to get in and out?Truck access is paved and easy (access is through an alternate gate, no need for access to the Air Force Base)
8Railcars handle 10,000-12,000 tons.Noted. However, at this time, rail car deliveries are not an option and the inclusion of railcar in the requirement document was an error. Please see the updated documents requesting only truck delivery.
