UPGRADE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
QUESTIONS
1. Detail 3/E.3 shows an 8’ ground rod. Specification 26 05 26 2.2 D. 1.
Says ¾” x 10’ copper clad. Is specification correct? Yes
2. Details 1/E‐6 and 2/E6 call out for ¾”, 1”, 11/4”, and 3” conduit to be pvc coated rigid. That conduit is not in stock and will take several days to get. Can we change it to schedule 80 pvc, or can we coat rigid conduit ourself with Carboline Bitumastic 50(info attached)? No, Coated PVC Rigid Galvanized conduit is required
3. Can we get a photo of where the 3” conduit enters the LCDA. If it enters in the rear it will be difficult to access as the incoming service lines have filters on them and the wire to PP needs to be disconnected before pulling. We believe that the 3” conduit come in the bottom of the LCDA panel vs. the rear. We will attempt to get a picture of where the 3” conduit enters the LCDA panel by end of Monday 5‐8‐17.
4. There will be a lot of holes, bare spots, etc. when equipment and conduit is demolished in small garage/pump house. Are we to paint and patch as needed? Patch as needed. No painting, match existing weather siding. We can provide existing siding information for matching.
5. There are 6 sites that will require trenching from the pole to the large garage. To avoid winter shutdown can we send two people ahead to do this work once it is coordinated with an inspector? The work will be outside the MAF, so we will not need a separate escort. Incorrect, Escort will be required unless free zone
6. Is there any work to be done with the fire alarm and the security cameras? Both are in the pump‐house/small garage. No work shall be done on the fire alarm or security cameras, however there are some
CCTV conduits that are on the exterior part of Pump House that should be identified and left alone. The CCTV conduit that feeds cameras runs back to Large Garage. Only exterior conduit that feeds back into pump house shall be removed and placed inside pump house.
