About this file

This document is a Salient Characteristics document for the Installation of Microwaves in All Dorm Rooms at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, scheduled for 5 June 2025. The contractor is required to provide labor, materials, and equipment to install 751 microwaves across six dormitory buildings (Endeavour, Discovery, Columbia, Atlantis, Enterprise, and Challenger Halls), with each building having 123-127 rooms needing microwave installation. The microwaves must be installed on existing MicroFridge and Absocold refrigerators, with specific requirements including 0.7 cu. ft. capacity, internal smoke sensor, easy grip pull door, LED display, USB charging stations, and specific unit dimensions.

The total microwave procurement is 771 units, with 385 for MicroFridge and 386 for Absocold, of which 751 will be installed in resident rooms and 20 will be delivered to a warehouse for back stock. Delivery will be to Building 115 at 205 Vandenberg Ave., Whiteman AFB, with all buildings available for installation starting 1 August 2025. Work must be performed Monday-Friday from 0730 to 1600, with a 72-hour delivery notice required to the Unaccompanied Housing Superintendent. The buildings have three floors, four internal stairwells, and no elevator access, which will impact installation logistics.
