The scope of work includes replacing rectifiers, junction boxes, and treated wooden poles at the sites. Fencing will need to be disassembled and reassembled at four of the sites. Wells should be installed five feet apart and within 25 feet of the rectifier. Drawings show details on the existing rectifier and junction box mounting. Maintain Cathodic Protection at 8 MMIII Sites RFI Questions and Answers

1. Are we to included replacing the rectifiers at these missile sites in our quotes? On page 4 of 38 on the solicitation it reads “use existing”. In the past we’ve always just replaced them. We would also like to know if new junction boxes are required as well.

Per Page 3 of the Statement of Work under “4. SCOPE OF WORK” section, the rectifier is to be replaced.

2. Will the treated poles at the sites need to be replaced?

We completed an inspection of the treated poles at the sites. We will need to replace all the treated poles at these sites, the Detail for the treated poles is on Sheet 5 of 5 in the plans.

3. Is there any fencing or barriers that will need to be disassembled/reconstructed?

There is fencing at I-06, I-08, L-01, and L-04 that will need to be disassembled/reassembled.

4. At what distance from the old wells should the new wells be located? How far away from the rectifier?

Typically 5’ between the wells, and no more than 25’ from the rectifier.

5. Can you send us a drawing or pictures of the existing rectifier/junction box mounting, so we can determine what’s required for the new rectifier/junction box?

See the Detail for the rectifier/junction box mounting on Sheet 5 of 5 in the plans.

6. Is it the intention that all wells should be installed prior to winter shutdown in 2021?

Yes, but this is weather dependent.

7. Can the wells be installed in succession prior to installing the rectifiers/junction boxes, or shall each site be completed prior to moving to a new location?

Each site shall be completed prior to moving to the next site.

8. What is the input AC requirement for the rectifier?

Per Page 12 of the Statement of Work under “15. EQUIPMENT FOR RECTIFIERS AND SHUNT BOXES” section, the rectifier model is specified and shall be installed according to the SOW and the rectifier manufacturer recommendation.

9. In Atch+1+SOW+(20-1014) under 15.1 it states what rectifier needs to be the replacement. We planned on using a Universal but this gets specific and says Corrpro, which doesn’t make rectifiers, they only distribute. Ours will be exactly the same but going through Corrpro would just be adding an unnecessary step to wind up with the same rectifier, please advise.

Per Page 12 of the Statement of Work under 15.1 section, the model number is stated with the following “or equal” and would be evaluated through the submittal process after the contract is awarded.

10. What type of fencing are you needing replaced upon completion? If we are simply moving some cattle panels around that’s one thing but if this is a giant chain-link or brick fence we will tear up to get on site, that’s a completely different scenario as we are not fence builders.

The fence is a simple wooden post barbed wire fence.
