Corrections – Response to Questions

12. Reference PWS Para 4.3.11. What support is the contractor supposed to provide to the Forest Service while they conduct controlled burns? Answer: The contractors ensure the range facilities and equipment are not damaged in case the controlled burns get out of control for some reason. The contractor will use all available resources to protect range facilities during controlled burns. This is primarily confined to the impact area – not the expanded boundaries. The contractor shall also provide assistance in the way of guidance and safe escorts to any USFS personnel that enter the impact area. The contractor shall maintain the helo pad and wind sock in good working order as a base of operations for the USFS helicopter used during controlled burns.

14. Will the government incur the cost of the disposal of non-toxic waste? Answer:

No. PWS Para 4.3.10.3.2 states that the contractor is responsible for the disposal of ALL waste material. That includes non-toxic waste.

19. Will EOD clear/safe range roads and bomb circles prior to grading operations?

Answer: No. As per Appendix E, grading operations are required bi-monthly, but are actually determined by rain and road usage so may be necessary more often during a heavy rainy season. However, grading operations directly on the bomb circle will only be schedule to coincide with the EOD clearance.
