About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for perimeter security fence, gate, and cable barrier installation at an Air Force facility. The project requires removal of approximately 1,690 linear feet of existing chain link fence and installation of a new 96-inch tall galvanized chain link fence with three strands of barbwire, one 4-foot pedestrian gate, and one 18-foot vehicle entrance gate. The contractor must install gate automation equipment including one gate operator and one intercom system, along with photo-eye safety sensors and a wireless edge sensor for the gate system. A "Free Exit" loop system with loop detector must be saw-cut and installed to automate gate opening for departing vehicles. All electrical systems must remain operational during construction and be returned to original positions if disturbed.
The contractor must also furnish and install approximately 415 linear feet of K4-rated high-security steel cable barrier system on the inside of the north side perimeter fence with 8-inch barrier posts at corners and every 200 feet maximum spacing. All materials must meet baseline specifications including Schedule 40 piping and framework, galvanized chain link fabric, and standard structural concrete for footings without rebar. The project must be completed within 45 days and comply with International Building Code, National Electrical Code, and all applicable federal safety regulations. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary security and safety clearances, facility permits, environmental and life safety approvals, preparing AutoCAD as-built drawings, and restoring the site to original condition within 10 workdays after completion. The fence footprint must exactly match the existing fence location without relocation, extension, or shortening per Air Force instructions AFI 32-10142 and DAFI 32-9005.
