Dock Leveler Questions
• What is the pit width?
• What is the pit Length?
• What is the height from pavement to dock floor?
• What is the depth of pit in the front?
• What is the depth of pit in the rear?
• What is the decline percentage leading up to the dock position? 50ft total length from dock.
• Does this dock position also require new dock pads to protect the building?
• What style of equipment is the existing dock leveler system (Mechanical Leveler, Hydraulic Leveler, Air Bag Leveler)?
· What style of dock leveler equipment is specified for the new system (Mechanical Leveler, Hydraulic Leveler, Air Bag Leveler)?
• What is the projection of the current bumpers on site?
• Does the Dock recess into the building at all? Or does the building protrude out from the dock?
• Weight of forklift going in and out of building?
• Number of trucks per day in this dock bay?
· What is the condition of the existing electrical supply?
· Can the existing electrical supply be reused?
· What is the condition of the existing concrete around the dock leveler? Is there any concrete to be replaced?
· Can a site visit be scheduled?
· Are we going to try to have a site visit on the solicitation?

Dock Leveler Answers
The below specifications should answer most of their questions:
· - Size: 6'6" W x 8' L Nominal (Pit Dimension 80" W x 87" L x 20" D)
· - Capacity: 40,000 lbs. CIR
· - Leveler is rated for gross moving loads not to exceed 17,000 lbs., 8 full truckloads per day, 4wheel fork trucks only
· moving at no more than 5 MPH and
· operating grade less than 7%. Loading conditions outside of these parameters may require heavier capacity leveler.
· - 16" Lip Length
· - Single Pushbutton Operation
· - NEMA 12 Controls (Interlock Capable)
· - Single or Three Phase Motor
· - Frame Mounted Powerpack
· - Powered Lip Extension/Automatically Retracting Lip Cylinder, True Regenerative Hydraulic Control
· - Aircraft Grade Hydraulic Fluid
· - Internal Velocity Fuse to Provide Fall Protection Within 1" to 3"
· - Painted Poweramp Grey

· Replacing existing concrete is not part of the scope, only the concrete that is damaged during installation should be replaced.
