About this file

This document provides questions and answers regarding a boiler service scope of work for a federal agency. The period of performance is one calendar month, with potential extensions for delays outside the contractor's control. The boiler vessel is approximately 181.5 inches long and 73 inches in outer diameter. It currently has a hard mineral wool/fiberglass insulation and jacketing per the original equipment manufacturer's specifications. Photographs of the boiler are unavailable, but supplemental documentation is provided.

The related federal contract opportunity is soliciting proposals to remove insulation and jacketing from Boiler 3, perform non-destructive testing to verify the structural integrity of the vessel, and replace the insulation and jacketing if integrity is confirmed. The scope also includes combustion tuning and inspections upon reassembly. Offerors are to submit pricing for the work in two conditional phases. The soliciting agency is the Air Force Air Combat Command.
