About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract FA452826RB0003, Building 445 Office Furniture Replacement. The document clarifies specifications for office systems furniture and related components required under CLIN 0001.
The government confirmed that eight 8'-0" × 6'-0" cubicles will be configured individually (not shared), with each cubicle requiring two locking Box, Box, File (BBF) pedestals positioned at each end of the L-shaped 8'-0" desk surface with 6'-0" bridge. Five separate Office System Work Desks are also required, each L-shaped and 6'-0" long with a 3'-6" bridge and locking BBF pedestals. The government specified that mobile pedestals are acceptable and prefers two BBF pedestals per workstation for their use case. Each workstation requires 4 electrical outlets (two plug-ins per outlet), with a power strip provided at each individual workstation to power laptops and 120V devices. The contractor is responsible for furnishing and installing all required electrical and data distribution components routed through the cubicle panels, while the government will handle final connections to existing building services per PWS section 3.5. Upper glass headers for the cubicles must not exceed ¼ glass height and must be frosted. Detailed specifications and configurations are referenced in drawing set A1.1.

Building 445 Office Furniture Replacement –
FA452826RB0003
Question/s 1:
We understand that CLIN 0001 includes eight 8'-0" × 6'-0" cubicles, configured as two four-person pods, with power and data routed through the cubicle panels, lower fabric panels and upper frosted-glass headers, overhead storage, LED lighting, and locking BBF pedestals.
To ensure our quote and product literature align precisely with the requirement, please confirm the following:
1. Does the listed L-shaped 8'-0" desk surface with 6'-0" bridge apply to each individual cubicle, or is it a shared configuration within each four-person pod?
2. For the locking BBF pedestals, does each 8'-0" × 6'-0" cubicle require two locking BBF pedestals, one positioned at each end of the desk surface?
3. Are the five Office System Work Desks, each L-shaped, 6'-0" long with a 3'-
6" bridge and locking BBF pedestals, separate from the eight cubicle workstations?
4. For the required power and data feeds, should the contractor furnish and install all required electrical and data distribution components within the panels, with connections coordinated to existing building services?
Answers:
1. This is for each individual cubical per A1.1 in the drawing set.
2. That is correct, the intent is to have one at each end of the work surface.
3. Yes, refer to A1.1 in the drawing set.
4. Yes, contractor is responsible for routing power and data feeds through the panels. Final connections to the building will be the responsibility of the government per PWS section 3.5.
Question/s 2:
I have a question regarding this furniture opportunity.
- What do you mean by “power bar”?
o Do you have a reference photo of what you are looking for?
Answers:
This is intended to be a power strip for powering laptops and other 120V devices at each individual workstation.
Question/s 3:
Just a couple of questions:
Systems Furniture
Unusual to have two Box, Box, File (BBF) Pedestals in a workstation. Usually, it is one File over File and one BBF, is the client sure they want two BBF's? Where these pedestals fixed (attached to the worksurface) or mobile; most people go mobile?
How many outlets (two plug ins in an outlet)s are required per station? Typically, 3-4
Glass - is ¼ glass or half glass?
Answers:
1-We would prefer two BBF for our use case. Mobile would be acceptable.
2- 4 would be sufficient for this use case
3- No more than ¼ glass assuming this is in reference to the glass height for the cubicles in 137C. Glass to be frosted.
