About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document addressing vendor inquiries regarding a hood and dryer vent cleaning contract solicitation. The document clarifies key requirements and operational details for prospective bidders.

Vendors must bid on cleaning quantities per building as specified in the Performance Work Statement and Bid Schedule, with no requirement for specific hood dimensions and duct footage prior to bidding. General guidance indicates hoods range from 4' x 4' to 5' x 19' with ducts approximately 10 feet in length. For Buildings 140 and 212, there is one dryer duct unit in Building 140 and two in Building 212, each with approximately 20 linear feet of duct work. Special equipment requirements are limited to Building 414, which requires a lift for annual dryer vent cleaning. Certification requirements are specified in Paragraph 1.2 of the PWS, with C-Det identified as the only nationally recognized certification for dryer vents. Specific cleaning schedules and acceptable time windows are detailed in Paragraph 5.3 of the PWS, referencing Monday through Thursday availability. No previous contractor dimensions or recorded specifications are available for reference, and vendors should rely on the PWS and Bid Schedule for accurate pricing development.

1. Alternatively, could the incumbent's previously recorded dimensions be released to all vendors?

Answer. The are no recorded dimensions from the previous contractor. Specific hood dimensions and duct footage are not a requirement for accurate pricing.
