512th VTC Tech Refresh Site Visit and Q & A: Solicitation: FA449720R0036

Questions:

Q1. The SOW in section 2.4 states: ” Display processor must support active window resizing, monitoring, aspect ratio conversion, overlays, and transitions.” This functionality would be typical of a windowing processor with drop and drag functionality.

a. Is there a requirement for a windowing processor?

b. If there is a requirement for a windowing processor how many video inputs do you require in the video processor?

c. If there is a requirement for a windowing processor how many video outputs do you need?

d. If there is a requirement for a windowing processor how many simultaneous windows do you need?

e. If there is a requirement for a windowing processor do you want the ability to click and drag windows to resize and reshape using a mouse?

i. If yes then you need a mouse and key board at any location where this functionality is desired please define where this functionality would be needed at E.g.; Table, rack, podium

f. If there is a requirement for a windowing processor would there be a need to display graphics and videos as well as base band video sources?

(Answer: There is an existing Creston controller and must be reutilize/reprogrammed)

Q2: is the existing LCD to be relocated being used as one of the three confidence monitors?

(Answer: No the existing LCD will be relocated in a hallway adjacent to the Wing Commanders office as to digital information board.)

Q3: Please confirm there are two podiums

(Answer: Yes there are to podiums)

Q4: The Solicitation states twice in Part II Technical Capability: ” The offer must be able to integrate an existing Cisco SX80 Codex into the current VTC suite” Why is this stated twice?

(Answer: No clue why it is stated twice.)

Q5: Is the government asking to provide a new Cisco VTC CODEC and Camera or will an existing SX80 CODEC and camera be utilized?

(Answer: No a new CODEC and camera are not required. Offeror will reutilize the existing SX80 and camera.)

Q6: The SOW section 5 Equipment rack states: “Current GFE equipment racks can be utilized for this upgrade.” But also states “Equipment rack must also include an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) large enough to support the power load requirement. Grounding must have internal grounding bus IAW Mil

Std 188.129. All equipment racks must be built at contractors’ location and bench tested prior to delivery on-site.”

a. If the current rack is reused does the government require the integrator to provide a UPS?

b. If the current rack is reused does the government require internal grounding bus IAW Mil Std 188.129.

c. If the current rack is reused does the government require the equipment rack be picked up and removed from site, rebuilt at contractors’ location and bench tested prior to delivery on-site?

(Answer: Current GFE rack must be used on-site. UPS is not required; however grounding is required.)

Q7: Is the existing Projector to be reused?

(Answer: Yes the existing projector must be reused.)

Q8: Is the existing projection screen to be reused?

(Answer: Yes the existing projector must be reused.)

Q9: Is the existing Audio DSP to be reused?

(Answer: Yes the existing audio DSP must be used.)

Q10: The Solicitation page 1, 2nd paragraph states: “wireless touch control tablets and supporting rack mounted equipment with high quality, state of the art equipment. All functionality and operation of new components to be integrated and controlled via wireless touch control tablets in each room.” The SOW states in Section 3.1.7.2 ” 9” Wired touchscreen controller with tabletop charging dock that will allow end user to select any source connected to the matrix chassis and route it to the displays or dial a phone or video call.”

a. Does the customer have an existing touch screen at the operator desk?

b. Does the customer want to continue to use the existing touch screen at the operator desk?

c. Does the customer want an additional touch screen?

d. If the customer wants an additional touch screen will it be wired or wireless?

e. If the customer wants an additional touch screen what is the approximate size?

(Answer: There is an existing touch screen associated with the Creston.)

Q11: Is the existing Network switch to be reused?

(Answer: The existing network switch must be reused.)

Q12: Is the existing Matrix switch to be reused?

(Answer: The existing matrix switch must be reused.)

Q13: Is the existing control processor to be reused?

(Answer: The existing Crestron must be reused.)

Q14: Are the existing speakers to be reused?

(Answer: The existing speakers must be reused.)

Q15: Is the existing Audio amplifier to be reused?

(Answer: The existing audio amplifier must be reused.)

Q16: The SOW section 3.1.6.2 states “Digital array beam tracking ceiling microphones with LED mute indicator. A master control on a touchscreen controller will mute/unmute all simultaneously.” But also states in section 3.1.6.3 “ Drop down ceiling microphones” if using a digital array beam tracking microphone then drop down ceiling microphone is not required. Please confirm the customer requires only the Digital array beam forming microphone array which is afar superior performing microphone based on the conditions described in the SOW.

(Answer: There currently is a digital array beam ceiling microphones in the room.)

Q17. Does the customer want to add a proximity sensor that will shutdown the system when no activity is present after an hour?

Answer: Yes we would like a proximity senor that will shut down the system if there is no activity in the conference.

Q18. It is standard to add reinforcement to wall when installing large format LCDs. Does the customer want ¾” pressure treated plywood installed, and painted black on the wall where the existing large format LCD will be installed?

Answer: Yes we would like to add reinforcement to the wall.

Q19. Does the customer want to add a 3” grommet with dual USB ports at the conference room table which will provide a clean an organized method to connect and disconnect a keyboard and mouse when not in use?

Answer: Yes we would like the 3” grommet with dual USB ports on the conference room table.

Q20. During classified briefings does the security controls require the unclassified CODEC to be powered off as a precautionary measure in preventing accidental spillage to the unclassified network?

Answer: Yes as a precautionary measure we will require the CODEC to be powered off when presenting classified briefings.
