Contractor Questions #2

All answers are designated by “a.”

Please be aware that a new Pricing Table will also be posted as “Attachment 1 – Pricing Table

(1) Revised” and that all amendments to the solicitation must be signed and returned with your proposals.

1. According to Attachment 1, pricing table, CLIN X001AB Hospital Switch, cost are required for 12 months of service. Are we to price out only serves in support of Hospital switch, or all services in association of Hospital tasks, i.e. maintenance and work order request for premise work?

Also, this CLIN references PWS 5.2.3.3 which doesn’t exist; can you clarify?

a. PWS 5.2.3.3 should be deleted from this CLIN. There was a switch in the Hospital which has since been removed. However, this CLIN should remain and be priced separately for monthly maintenance of the Hospital because the Medical Group funds monthly maintenance for their facilities.

2. According to Attachment 1, pricing table, product IDs below call for total footage for CAT6 wire.

Are these for patch cords and if so, can you specify the lengths?

a. If you are referring to PIDs 4512, 4513 and 4514 those are for patch cords and they are purchased by the foot. If you are asking about any other PIDs, please provide the PID numbers in question?

3. On Amendment One Fed Biz Opps shows two attachments, but nota SF1442 or equivalent form for us to acknowledge receipt of the amendment when we submit our proposal. Will that form be provided?

a. The SF1449 is a conformed copy, returning that signed is acknowledging the amendment.

4. In the instructions for submission please clarify if the CDs submitted with each volume (Past Performance, Technical and Price) should each have all three volumes, each in its own folder on the CD?

a. Under the proposal preparation instructions please read letter G.

5. When will the answers from the public be made available?

a. 13 August 13, and 15 August 13

6. In order to remove this barrier and create a fair competitive advantage will there be a due date extension?

a. The questions were posted 13 August 13, the date anticipated for this set of questions is 15 August 13. Due to an exercise on base, they were posted later in the day than anticipated. During the pre-proposal conference/site visit, it was stated that questions be turned in no later than 4:00 P.M. EST, this group of questions postings will correlate with the turn in date. Yes there will be an extension to 21 August 2013, 4:00 P.M. EST.

7. In regard to existing aerial cables what is the expected process to replace/repair with subterranean cables if existing aerial cables are damaged?

a. If an aerial cable is damaged, a Tech Solution and Costing work order will be issued to replace the cable with either a manhole/duct and cable or a direct buried cable.

8. When do you anticipate Q&A answers to come out on FedBizOpps?

a. The questions were posted 13 August 13 and 15 August 13 for this group of questions.

9. Amendment 0001 didn’t come with a SF30. How do we acknowledge receiving it?

a. Amendment 0001 is part of the SF1449, it is a conformed copy, signing that will acknowledge receiving it.

10. Will proposal deadline be extended?

a. Yes, 21 August 2013 4:00 P.M. EST

11. According to the stipulated page count for each volume, is it required to submit in such a large binder?

a. Yes, please strictly adhere to the solicitation

12. Is each volume required to be a 2” binder?

a. Yes, if that is what the solicitation states.

13. Also, can you please provide contractor an extension on proposal due date? Ideally a 1 week extension, but minimally a 1 day extension to allow contractor to complete the proposal over this weekend.

a. It will be extended by 2 days, until the 21st of August 2013, 4:00 P.M. EST

14. There is a reference to Amendment 1, In the Q&A it states that the government will not provide an SF30 reflecting Amendment 1 - how are we to acknowledge the Amendment?

a. The Solicitation is a conformed copy, by signing the SF1449 you are acknowleding the amendment.

15. Question 23 states the total number of binders is 3, however the solicitation instructions require 3 separate volumes, Technical, Past Performance and Cost, 1 original of each and a copy of each. That would be a total of 6 binders. Do you want the original and the hard copy in one binder?

a. No, only 3 binders.

16. We accessed the Questions and Answers yesterday afternoon, and would like to request a one-week extension in order for our estimators to incorporate the changes into our response. Can you please move the due date out to August 26th?
