About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document regarding the refurbishment of the Ultimate Warrior Statue at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL). The document addresses eight questions covering warranty requirements, color matching, foundry information, materials, landscaping, and wage determinations.
Key details include: no annual maintenance is required beyond standard craftsmanship warranty; color samples must be provided to CE COR for approval before transport; the original foundry was Sculpture House Casting Inc. in Long Island City; the statue material includes auto body "Bondo" type components; eight Japanese Holly bushes must be removed and replaced with smaller juvenile bushes with spacing to be coordinated on-site; and the Service Contract Act wage determination follows JB MDL (Burlington County) rates. The accompanying images show the statue mounted on a white pedestal surrounded by the existing holly bushes, along with close-up photos of the bushes and their foliage.

Questions: Refurbish Ultimate Warrior Statue
Q1: Would our proposal deem not eligible if we included (3) year warranty and annual maintenance in our total price o er? No annual maintenance is needed. Provide the standard warranty for general craftsmanship.
Q2: Can you provide any color pictures from around 1990 or later that illustrates what the original patina color was? We do not have the original paint color. Before transport o site the contractor will provide color samples to the CE COR, so the primary customer can select the best color match at the statue on base before transport o site.
Q3: Any documentation on who the foundry was that casted the statue? This is not a hard request- just a nice to have.
Sculpture House Casting Inc.

Q4: Can you tell us what is the exact material for the Sculpt Metal? My understanding is that this was ab autobody, “Bondo” type material. I believe some general online research would confirm its make up.
Q5: How many bushes and what type of bushes need to be removed before removing the statue?
There 8 bushes currently. All bushes will be removed. We would need them replaced with smaller juvenile bushes. We believe them to be a Japanese Holly. We will coordinate spacing and locations of new bushes on site with the primary customer prior to install of new bushes.
Q6: Please provide us with the name/type of bush, how many, and what size the government would like us to plant after the statue is refurbished. All bushes will be removed. We would need them replaced with smaller juvenile bushes. We believe them to be a Japanese Holly. We will coordinate spacing and locations of new bushes on site with the primary customer prior to install of new bushes.
Q7: Please provide us with the pictures of the bushes. See attached
Q8: While the sculpture is being refurbished o -base, does the applicable Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determination follow the base's location (JB MDL), or does it follow where the refurbishment work is physically performed? The wage determination will follow JB MDL which is Burlington County.
