a. Excavate 3 ft by 3 ft holes, 4.5ft deep for concrete deadman anchors per locations shown in site map (attachment 1). See attachment 2 for detail. The maximum spacing between concrete deadman anchors is 200 feet. See attachment 1 for site map depicting location of cabling. Attachment 3 provides pertinent information from the UFCs denoted in para 2.0 and Attachment 4 provides drawing details from UFC 4-022-03. Follow all mitigation measures denoted in the Environmental Assessment (attachment 5) to include the additional measures for those anchors located in environmentally sensitive areas IAW the site map anchor locations.
b. Place 4000 psi concrete deadman anchors, 3ft by 3ft by 1.5 ft deep. Submit concrete mix design IAW Specification 03 00 00, Cast-in-Place Concrete. Provide and install two each 1-1/2 inch threaded rods with 4 inch by 4 inch by ¼ inch thick steel anchor plates in each deadman anchor. The minimum embedment of anchor in the concrete shall be 18 inches. Ktr has option to have concrete anchors pre-cast with threaded rod and plates embedded IAW UFGS 0342 13.00 10, Plant-Precast Concrete Products for Below Grade Construction.
c. Concrete deadman anchors must be installed within 10 ft from locations shown on attachment 6 while meeting the maximum 200 feet spacing requirement. Ktr to submit RFI during construction if spacing requirement cannot be meet prior to placement of deadman anchors. Several anchors require specific access routes to minimize wetland disturbance. See attachment 9 site map denoting these alternate access routes.
d. Once concrete is set/cured, backfill hole with excavated soil to surface grade so that the anchor is buried 3 feet below the surface. In areas where work occurs within wetland features or vernal pools (attachment 6), the top 3 inches of existing soil will temporarily be removed, stored on a tarp, and replaced back over the anchor to surface grade. See Environmental Assessment (attachment 5) for additional environmental mitigation measures/restrictions when working within or close proximity to wetlands.

f. Re-compact existing soil to IAW UFGS 31 23 00.00 20, Excavation and Fill, para 3.10.1.
g. Install two ¾” diameter wire cables, Type 1, Class 1, Federal Specification, FS RR-W- 410, across the fencing material on the site-side. Attach the wire cable to existing fence post with U bolt and to concrete deadman anchor with turnbuckle. Entire turnbuckle to be located above ground to allow for tension adjustment if required post installation.
Turnbuckles to have locking bar and padlocks to prevent tampering.
h. All metal components require material submittal and approval prior to installation (cable, turnbuckle, anchors, rod, eyebolts, u-bolts, locks, bars etc). See UFC 4-022-03, page 54, ASTM A1023/A1023M and ASTM F1145 for requirements along with UFGS 03 42
