Pre-Bid Questions
FA441822R0016 03 Aug 22
1. Are there any specific security clearances required for any work associated with the severs and comm cabling? No
2. Will any work be required to be completed at night? It is possible that some work will be required to take place outside of standard hours. Refer to specification 01 14 00 "Work Restrictions" for further details.
3. Can a window be removed from the Bldg. use for material access? The government cannot dictate means and methods for how materials are placed in the job site. If appropriately coordinated and evaluated from a safety perspective, this may be an option.
4. Who maintains the existing fire alarm system? The existing fire alarm is currently maintained by Eagle Fire.
5. Could you please confirm the location of the controls SC that is closest to the new server room.
Room P220 is the nearest SC (see attached).
6. Please clarify if the SA-CFM-C show on mechanical sheet MI801 for the CRAC unit is necessary.
Sequence of operation do not call for it and for this type of units, in most of the cases, the fan speed is controlled by a temperature sensor and not by the amount of CFM in the discharge of the unit.
There are some CRAC units configured this way, in most cases it will not be necessary. It will depend upon the standard configuration of the units submitted and accepted on this project.
7. If CRAC manufacturer can provide AHRI certified performance data (per AHRI Datacom Cooling Certification Program at AHRI Standard 1360 & ASHRAE Standard 127-2007) at specific scheduled conditions can the factory test per spec section 23 81 23 2.9.1 be excluded?
Yes, if CRAC manufacturer can provide AHRI certified performance data (per AHRI Datacom Cooling Certification Program at AHRI Standard 1360 & ASHRAE Standard 127-2007) at specific scheduled conditions the factory test per spec section 23 81 23 2.9.1 can be excluded.
8. What elevation ABV. 1st Floor should the ref. piping and condenser water penetrate the wall in room P109? Please advise.
Reference drawings A-403 for height of exterior penetrations and A-502 for penetration notes, "must be located above existing first floor acoustical ceiling".
9. Please provide CRAC unit elevation and locations in detail. Drawings are not clear. Please advise.
Reference drawings A-403 for elevations, MI401 for CRAC locations, exact locations in P209A cannot be coordinated until the rack system is submitted and approved during construction.
