Text version

1. Is this project solicited as Negotiated, Sealed Bid, Request for Quote?

‐Request for Quote

2. Is a hard copy of the bid required for submission or will an email of our proposal suffice?

‐Email will suffice.

3. Due to the estimated magnitude of the project being between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 would it be in the best interest of the Government to require an Offer Guarantee and/or Performance and Payment Bond?

‐Bonds are not required for this particular project.

4. What is the extent of surface preparation required? During the site visit is was observed that some of the buildings had rotted fascia, severely rusted/corroded door/door frames, severely damaged stucco. Beyond power washing and minor scraping, what is the limit to the required surface preparation?

‐If a section is too damaged to repair in accordance with the SOW then CE will perform repairs to the damaged area prior to painting. Contracting must be notified via RFI.

5. Some of the building have large areas of “hair line” cracks. Repairs to the numerous cracks would be time consuming and costly. Is it the Government’s intent to have them painted without caulking?

‐Any crack that is small enough to be covered by paint will not need to be caulked.

6. Is the coating system touch‐up of bare areas with one coat or touch‐up of bare areas with two coats?

‐SOW 4.2 states “Apply prime coat and two coats of final color”.

7. Will any stucco repair be required for this project?

‐SOW 1.1: “Pressure wash then make all necessary preparations and repairs to notated building exterior stucco walls.”

8. What kind of primer is specified?

‐The SOW does not specify which primer is required. Our only expectation is that the primer and the paint will be compatible.

9. Can you please clarify the preparation and repairs expected for the EIFS surfaces? As discussed it is a special repair for EIFS surfaces that need to be specified . Please advise on how to repair EIFS or if it is not included.

‐EIFS is not included in this project. There is no expectation that any EIFS will be repaired as a part of this contract because it is not included in the SOW.
