Q: Can we use the existing vertical fiber runs to every floor where wireless coverage is required?

A: Yes, vertical fiber from basement MDF to MDF on each floor will be available as well as from MDF to IDF on same floor.

Q: Will the existing government Wi-Fi have channel management to de-conflict with the commercial Wi-Fi?

A: The government controller currently automates channel choice. If needed coordination between vendor and NEC can be arranged if channels need to be managed.

Q: Is the government Wi-Fi using both 2.4ghz and 5ghz range?

A: Yes Q: Will the solution need to provide both 2.4ghz and 5ghz service?

A: Yes Q: If new conduit is run, will it need to be painted to match surroundings or can it be left bare?

A: No, it can be left bare Q: Will the vendor be allowed to use the existing cable trays and j-hooks?

A: Where available, the vendor can use existing comms cable trays and j-hooks as long as capacity thresholds are not exceeded for that support based on UFC and manufacture guidelines. Where none exist, vendor shall install cable support as needed in compliance with UFC/I3A standards.

Q: Will the vendor receive a floorplan showing all existing government WAP install locations?

A: Yes, see attached floorplan showing government WAPs Q: Will the vendor have a layout showing fiber paths and strand count?

A: Yes, see attached floorplan showing fiber path with total strand count. Count does not reflect availability.

Q: Does the vendor need to use the fiber within the building, or can they provide their own fiber to interconnect switches within the building?

A: No, the vendor does not have to use the existing government fiber distribution within the building and may engineer their own solution.

Q: Do we have to have x-rays done before every single coring or only in certain specific instances?

A: The scope does not currently call for core drills to be done but if your solution includes core drilling it will need to be approved by 502nd CE. X-rays before drilling are required.

Q: Is there available fiber from 2841 to our headend building at 3312?

A: There is not a direct fiber pathway as that side of base goes back to a different ADN.

Q: If no fiber is available between 2841 & 3312 can we get permission to install an aggregate switch in Bld 2225 (DMARC) where our Spectrum provisioned circuit is already present?

A: Yes, rack space for termination of the commercial circuit is already approved though space is limited. NEC will need to know how many rack units are needed for equipment.

Q: Do the low voltage and electricians need to be licensed in Texas?

A: Yes Q: If penetrations are required thru fire rated walls for cabling, can you send the FW penetration requirements?

A: Penetrations through fire rated walls should not be required. All wall penetrations must adhere to applicable UFC and local, state, and federal fire codes. All telecom pathways must adhere to UFC 3-580-01 TELECOMMUNICATIONS INTERIOR INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING AND DESIGN.

Q: Can they post or share JBSA-FSH network guidelines?

A: Telecom infrastructure on JBSA FSH must adhere to the following documents:

· AR 25-1, Army Information Technology, 25 June 2013.

· AR 25-2, Information Assurance, 4 April 2019.

· DoD Instruction 8500.01, Cybersecurity, March 14, 2014.

· DoD Instruction 8500.2, Information Assurance (IA) Implementation, February 6, 2003.

· DoD Instruction 8100.04, DoD Unified Capabilities (UC), December 9, 2010.

· UFC 3-580-01, Telecommunications Interior Infrastructure Planning and Design, 01 June, 2016

· Telecommunications Industry Association/ Electronic Industries Alliance (TIA/EIA) 568 Regulatory Provisions to include TIA-EIA 568-B.2 TIA Final, TIA-EIA 568-B 2-4, TIA-EIA 568-B.1-Final, TIA-EIA 568B21, TIA-EIA 568-B.3-Final, TIA-EIA 568-B.3-1.

Q: Will are installers need any special clearances?

A: A security clearance is not required. All personnel will be required to pass a simple background check by 502nd Security Forces Visitor Center to receive a pass allowing base access.

Q: Is there any possibility of getting a list of "Pre-approved Circuit Providers" so that we can streamline the bidding and circuit acquisition process for all involved?

A: We have reached out to 502nd CS for a list of circuits providers currently already in the DMARC but have not heard back. It is currently known that any circuit that is available through the DISA storefront is pre-approved.

Q: Would it be possible to place a 12-24port FTP (Fiber Patch Panel) in the MDF of bldg. 2841 to facilitate and streamline connectivity between our MDF in the basement mechanical room and the rest of the building.?

A: Currently only a fiber jumper to link MDF to mech room cabinets is authorized. A FTP can be installed in the mech rooms to consolidate distribution if the vendor chooses not to use the existing government fiber distribution within 2841.

Q: Is there a published list of IAVA, STIG that are "required" or "desired" for this project?

A: Yes, relevant DoD STIGs dictated from RMF IA Controls to implement for compliance. Specific STIGs are solution dependent but the solution must conform to RMF requirement of LOW LOW LOW.
