QUESTIONS 45-47
45) To confirm specification to lime stabilize the subgrade, typically we lime stabilize the base course and not the subgrade?
Government Response: Statement of Work indicates stabilization of base course and subgrade are required. See page 13, para 1.3.1.14. For bidding purposes contractor is to assume lime stabilization for sub-grade which is stated in the SOW. (see section 01 11 00, paragraph 1.3.1.4) Also refer to UFGS 32 11 13.13 which is listed in section 01 11 00, paragraph 3.1)
46) Will geogrid be required for the subgrade if the prior question is to lime stabilize the base course?
Government Response: Per the SOW; Portland Cement-Stabilization is required for the base course stabilization. SEE UFGS specification 32 11 33.13; which is listed in Section 01 11 00, paragraph 3.1
47) Will the 3” binder course for the base repair sections be required to be Type B asphalt?
