This document is a Pre-Bid Site Visit Questions and Answers for a federal contract (FA301025R0025) to replace Air Handling Units (AHUs) at the Azalea Dining Hall, Building 6960. The Q&A document covers multiple technical and procedural aspects of the project, including electrical work, lightning protection, and equipment specifications. Key clarifications include: contractors are allowed to attach disconnect switches to existing units, reuse existing raceways, and substitute NEMA 3 120v toggle switches; units must be replaced based on the drawing schedule, not current equipment; and the contractor must have separate individuals fulfilling superintendent, safety, and QA/QC roles. The project requires submittal of design data sheets for exhaust fans, kitchen supply fans, and kitchen exhaust fans, with specific requirements for electrical connections, safety measures, and compliance with labor standards.
