F-16 International Aircraft Maintenance and Pilot Differences Training – Draft RFP
FA300221R0002 Questions and Answers #3
1. What is the minimum length to support the F-16 aircraft?
ANSWER: 8,000’ of minimum usable runway length (at least 8000’ of landable surface as well
— no extended overruns or other conditions that would reduce the usable runway to less than
8000’), under USAF rules.
2. Does the runway require an F-16 Barrier Arresting System? If so, can the contractor request a waiver sine the USAF will be providing skilled pilots for all flying activities?
ANSWER: A Barrier Arresting System is normally required, however this requirement may be waived. All flying will be performed by the USG.
