About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing contractor inquiries regarding electrical work at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
The 96 Test Support facility requires electrical installation work including exterior wall pack lighting. No design drawings or historical documents are available for this requirement. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and inspections in compliance with applicable national, state, and local codes and regulations. The 96th Civil Engineer Group (96 CEG) oversees and administers the permitting and inspection process, with government inspection and acceptance satisfying contract compliance and permit requirements. Contractors are not required to retain an independent third-party electrical inspector. Exterior wall packs must be LED-type safety lights that activate during hours of darkness, are exterior-rated, mounted securely without compromising weatherproofing or structural integrity, and cannot utilize wood mounting as previously implemented. No specific brand or model requirements are mandated. Contractors must submit a custom submittal package including a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) quote that incorporates past performance information and technical capability details.
