About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for Grounds Maintenance services at Test Sites C-86 and C-3 located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. The RFI provides responses to six vendor questions regarding specific maintenance details, including grass clipping disposal (to be left as mower discharge), scheduling flexibility (coordinated through the Contracting Officer's Representative), makeup of missed mowing cycles, acreage details (C-86 at 5 acres, C-3 at 2 acres), potential service area additions (none anticipated), and herbicide use (no herbicides shall be used). The document is part of a 100% Small Business set-aside solicitation (Solicitation Number FA282325Q0040) for landscaping services, with a firm-fixed price contract covering a base year and four optional extension years for maintaining semi-improved grounds during the growing season.

308 W. D AVENUE

EGLIN AFB, FL 32542
SUBJECT: Request for Information | FA282325Q0040 | Grounds Maintenance – Test Site C-86 & C-3
# Question Government Response
Are grass clippings and trimmings expected to be bagged and removed after each service or may we leave them on the ground as mulch? I was reading through PWS 3.5, but wanted to get clarification.
NO, Clippings to be left as discharge from the mowers.
Are there specific days of the week that mowing and trimming are expected to be performed, or is the schedule flexible as long as it meets cycle requirements?
Flexible but coordinated through the COR for Site access scheduling
If a mowing cycle is delayed due to weather or range activity, is the expectation to reschedule the missed cycle or simply resume service at the next scheduled interval?
Make up the missed cut as coordinated with the COR.
Are there any anticipated additional service areas that may be added to this contract during the performance period?
No additions to be added.
Could you please confirm the total acreage (or square footage) of the semi-improved grounds to be maintained under this contract, including any delineation between Site C-86 and Site C- 3? We want to ensure our labor and pricing calculations are based on the correct scope.
C-86 calculated at 5 Acres C-3 calculated at 2 Acres
Regarding herbicide use: Is the contractor expected to proactively include non-selective herbicide application as part of regular maintenance (e.g., fence lines, poles), or only provide it when specifically requested and approved by the COR? Should any associated material or licensing costs be included in our bid pricing?
No herbicides shall be used.
