About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for an Executive Suite Office Furniture installation project at Eglin Air Force Base. The RFI contains detailed questions and answers from potential vendors regarding specific furniture requirements for multiple offices, including dimensional specifications, finish details, fabric selections, and installation constraints. Key clarifications include:

Furniture specifications involve multiple rooms in Building 696, with precise requirements for desk returns, overhead storage, tackboards, and seating. The government specified that the Statement of Work (SOW) will be amended to extend the completion timeline from 30 to 120 calendar days due to made-to-order furniture manufacturing. The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 337211, targeting wood office furniture manufacturing. Vendors must provide specific finishes like TSTV Studio Teak Walnut, use Maharam/Chalet/010 Batten fabric for side chairs, and submit quotes by 1:00 PM Central Time on 27 March 2025, with a non-mandatory site visit scheduled for 11 March 2025.

MEMORANDUM FOR: ALL POTENTIAL VENDORS

FROM: AFTC/PZIOCA

308 W. D AVENUE

STE 130, B260

EGLIN AFB, FL 32542

SUBJECT: Request for Information | FA282325Q0018 | Executive Suite Office Furniture, B. 696

# Question Government Response

Could I please have the current return dimensions for the offices requesting only hutches? (Rooms 2001, 2002, 2003) I have found for the new proposed desk – the hutches are a bit larger than the return, interfering with the height adjustable desk. I want to confirm if I need to provide the item # specified or if I need to adjust the width of those hutches by a couple of inches.

Room 2001 Commander’s Office: Delete the requirement for the Overhead Storage (hutch).

Room 2000 Deputy’s Office: The requirements call for a 60” Return and the Overhead Storage should be changed from a 64” to a 60” Overhead Storage (hutch). The light and tackboard should also be adjusted.

Room 2003 Admin (Executive Suite): The existing returns measure 6’-11” x 2’-5”. The Overhead Storage 64” x 14” x 42” should be changed to 83” x 14” x 42”. The light and tackboard should also be adjusted to match the adjusted size of 83” x 14” x 42”.

Is the Contractor responsible for moving pre-existing furniture? For example, in Rooms 2007 and 2019. If so, where will it go? (Will affect bids)

The contractor is not responsible for moving pre-existing furniture.

Does Building 696 have a loading dock where the furniture can be directly shipped, or will the Contractor need to have the furniture shipped locally and then brought on base?

Building 696 does not have a loading dock for the furniture to be directly shipped to and be stored. The Contractor will need to have the furniture shipped locally and brought on base.

How long in advance may the furniture be delivered? Is there anywhere in the building it can be stored before installation?

There is nowhere for the furniture to be stored in advance.

Is there any preferred time of day for this furniture to be installed? Ex. During the workday, after-hours, on the weekend..

Normal business hours Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1600.

JSI Finish calls for Studio Teak. This is not a JSI finish. Please advise if standard laminate finishes are to be priced or upgrade to premium.

The intent is to match the exiting furniture. The Contractor is to upgrade to a premium if required to match the existing furniture.

Please submit a sample of the Studio Teak for verification prior to manufacturing/purchasing.

Line #2: please specify a fabric grade for tack boards

The tackboards are as follows, please provide the fabric grade that will the fabric selected below:

Room 2001 Commander’s Office: Requirement Deleted.

Room 2002 Deputy Office: Guilford/Spinel/080 Perlite Room 2003 Admin: Guilford/Spinel/080 Perlite Room 2007 Office: Guilford/Spinel/080 Perlite Room 2019 Office: Guilford/Spinel/080 Perlite

8 Line #9: is wall access required? Yes, there is an electrical outlet on the wall that will need access.

Line #11: Bar pulls are specified for these hutches. JSI Vision hutches do not have pulls.

Please confirm no pulls are required for these pieces.

No pulls are required for the Overhead Storage (hutches).

Line #16: Fabric called out is Knoll K1596 Pembrock. This fabric cannot be found. As fabric affects pricing, please provide another fabric or graded-in option

The fabric selected for the side chair Cache Out is the following:

Maharam/Chalet/010 Batten.

While we can certainly provide past performance, is Technical Approach necessary?

In order to sell JSI, Sit On It and Darran to the government, we are required to be a dealer of that product which indicates our proficiency with those products.

By “Minimum Technical Requirements”, IAW FAR 13.106-2 (b), the Contracting Officer only needs to ensure that what is being offered is acceptable IAW the Civil Engineering Group. That is the only technical requirement for this solicitation.

SOW states work is to be completed in 30 days.

This is not realistic as the casegoods products are made-to-order and not stocked.

Manufacturing lead time is generally 8-12 weeks.

Due to casegood products being made-to-order, the SOW will be amended to state that work is to be completed within 120 calendar days of award.

The AF Seating BPA is no longer in effect. This product would be quoted on GSA contract.

Concur.

The part numbers given call for thermally fused laminate(M), however the finish specified is TSTV Studio Teak Walnut which is a premium veneer. We do have a MTW Studio teak for TFL. Should I proceed with this instead of premium veneer?

Please provide the following finishes as specified:

Room 2001 Commander’s Office: TSTV Studio Teak Walnut Room 2002 Deputy’s Office: TSTV Studio Teak Walnut Room 2003 Admin Area: TSTV Studio Teak Walnut Room 2007 Office: Studio Teak Room 2019 Office: Studio Teak

The specs call for ledge edge, which is not available in TFL, but is available in premium veneer.

Proceed with premium veneer if this is required to meet the edge detail specified.

We are able to match JSI, should we quote as an alternative for JSI or are the manufacturers to remain as is? (Question from Darran)

The manufacturers are to remain as specified.

The overhead console, tack board, and light sizes in the furniture specifications call for a 64W desk, which cannot be accommodated due to the height adjustable desk. I have updated the sizes to match the return for room 2002, however rooms 2003 and 2001 I am not sure how to proceed due to existing furniture being paired with these overheads. Should these add Ons be 64W or should I match room 2002 at 60?

Room 2001 Commander’s Office: Delete the requirement for the Overhead Storage (hutch).

Room 2000 Deputy’s Office: The requirements call for a 60” Return and the Overhead Storage should be changed from a 64” to a 60” Overhead Storage (hutch). The light and tackboard should also be adjusted to the 60” overhead if required.

Room 2003 Admin (Executive Suite): ): The existing returns measure 6’-11” x 2’-5”. The Overhead Storage 64” x 14” x 42” should be changed to 83” x 14” x 42”. The light and tackboard should also be adjusted to match the adjusted size of 83” x 14” x 42”.
