Questions and Answers Session #6 Q6:

Vendor Question 1) “I have a question regarding the adjustability of the stands in solicitation FA2823-19-Q-0024. Will there be an air hookup or an electrical outlet nearby for the use of pneumatic or electric adjustment? Will a backup manual adjustment system be required?”

Vendor Question 2) “In reference to Solicitation Number: FA2823-19-Q-0024 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE PLATFORMS/STANDS. In the latest version of the solicitation, there is no reference to electric utilities, compressed air or lighting to be included on these Maintenance Platforms. Does this mean that these three options are NOT to be included on these Maintenance platforms?”

Vendor Question 3) “What is the approximate water line height of the F-16 and F-15 Wings? (I am trying to understand how tall the stands will be.)

Vendor Question 4) “How many operators will be working on these stands or more specifically working on a single stand at any one time? (I am trying to determine the loading so we can properly size structural members)”

A6:

Government Response 1) We would prefer a manual adjustment system for the stands (ease of adjustability for 1 to 2 workers), but there will be air hookups and electrical outlets nearby, if proposed adjustment systems require hookups.

Government Response 2) Electrical utilities, compressed air and understand lighting are not included in the minimum requirements, but are options that can be included with the proposal.

Government Response 3) The stands just need to meet the minimum height requirements with the adjustable + 12 inches from the median height.

Government Response 4) The stands should allow for a minimum of 2 workers, with tools (roughly 500 pounds), to work on a single stand at a time and proposals should specify the weight capacities per stand. Also, the stands should have markings that mention the maximum weight capacity for each stand to prevent an accidental overload.
